They didn't update the textures for T6, but... perhaps you're using compressed textures and don't realize it? The tweaker/official launcher hasn't always updated settings properly, in my experience....

Editing something to be shiny would actually be fairly easy for a modder, I'd suggest looking into the mod thread for more info on how to do that.

Updating through the new method causes the tweaker to derp for some people and try to reinstall half the game. Try updating using the old method instead.

I don't know about the ARKS mod tool, but if you're alright with standard mods, Arredoval's made a mod to remove gathering node visuals here. It's not toggleable, but you can still fish/gather...

All COs that say that you can only bring a specific NPC can still be done with other players. You just can't have any other NPCs with you.
