Was the game working before the last maintenance/ patch?
Have you made sure that the game is updated completely?

If that doesn't do it, did you try configuring the toggle key that's in the configure item translation menu?

The term you're looking for is "on by default."
The only thing forcing you to use the proxy is if you cannot connect normally.
The off switch for both is right in the menu if you choose to disable...
