That is similar to what I experienced.
I haven't found anywhere near as many items(especially not 10*), but all of the good drops were outside of boosts of any kind.

I have probably spent a few hours more than that on my caseal and at least two hours on my newearl alt. Both were created with the character creator and in several sessions tweaked.
