Update on that, due to how vram is calculated and prioritized in Fullscreen mode, the lag has become at least manageable, oddly, lag spikes during the most recent Lillipa intro, you know the one....

What I usually do is kill all enemies that spawn in my general vicinity in the first area and skip enemies in the second area, I find that gets me an S rank 100% of the time.
