That's what is happening, because they CAN check it if they wanted to and took the time, yes. Especially since a packet is involved in this. (Obviously because other people can see it)

Their player IDs are stored in your client and their positions can be updated if you switch your ID to theirs. This is again a client-side change that the server ends up believing. No direct editing...

Only a client side edit is being done and I'm trying to let people know to not freak out even more because someone was trying to make people think their credit cards are at risk. No one is hacking...
