The game can't run in windowed mode on the VM though or it crashes the VM. The same goes with trying to use RDP into the VM, which I found out was because RDP doesn't support 3d...

You will most likely have to update the windows registry keys for where you moved the game to. Otherwise it might not work or work for a while then break once the game updates.
