Official Acrotecher Thread

For some reason the Amesani site has issues on my laptop, so I haven’t been able to pull stats for a while. You can do it yourself here or you can just look at the JP wiki with the 110/15 data (Newman and Cast are the middle rows).

But, yeah, I really don’t like WT that much mainly because it’s the only techer class where Casts TP starts to hurt with Resta/Giresta. As a GT at 102/15 I could get around 1500s with Giresta, while I was struggling to break 1000 as WT 109/15. And if I’m playing a techer class, I want to have useful support to balance the loss of damage I’d gain as a Fighgunner, Acrofighter, or Fortefighter and I just don’t feel like WT quite does that.

Really, arguing one race is better than another at a certain class or arguing one class is better than another class is pretty much just opinion and preference based. I never liked attack techs, so I’m obviously biased against their use and if there is some way around needing to use them, I’ll find it.

Funny thing is that I can't get my head around playing a techer and not using attack techs. That's always the best part of being any sort of caster.

Yeah, I didn't mean to turn this into a best race, worse race discussion, just meant to point out the obvious: lower ATP and higher TP will make tech use more appealing.

I'm with panzer with regard AT/WT and techs. it's 'fun' to use them, as long as they are 1/2way decent (and I think they still are). Then again, I have a Guntecher, who does not know a single attack tech and probably never will.

on another note, looks like 150ATP difference between Cast and Newman for AT. Thats enough to make me consider using daggers

So, yeah, decided to mess around with machineguns as an Acrotecher today. Ended up doing 340 per shot with my half-grinded Vulcanics and Solid/Power S. Not as good as a GT or FG, but not that bad either. And it easily competes with the card and twin handgun damage just from the firing rate difference.

Not bad, but not great either. Fun for stun-locking medium mobs before a Hikai or Spinning Strike though.

I'm still AT 10 by the way. Another 3000 MP and I'll hit 11.

Yeah the road to 11 is a very long one. Got to AT 10 by 25 and I'm still there at 54, lol. Should get over that hurdle this weekend, looks like i got 2K to go.
