From what I could gather:
I think it is right that you turn your rare item into a present in Gallons' Shop beforehand. It can probably be anything you've got a spare of.
But the part about the Xmas card and the password on it that you must somehow get is confusing. From what I understand, you won't be able to enter the room without the pass that you get from a "receptionist". Who won't tell you the pass without the card. But the card that you get from 'gill mosquito'? Umm.
Also of note: there is no such ship as Alcyone, is there? I never saw it in the Ship Select menue...
With directions like that, I don't think anyone will be showing up to the party. (plus, they would probably chase out Americans/Europeans anyway)
Alcyone is the new JP v1.1 ship. This card thing is really confusing me though.
