I've recently seen a few people say they switched from Fighgunner to another class. So far I've been pretty satisfied with mine, but I was wondering why people didn't like the class or why they liked another one better. I'm just curious since I was thinking about buying a Nightwalker and wanted to know if I should save my money for something else instead.

I was fighgunner, but I was mostly melee and with the low evasion on the class; I was continuously being knocked around the room. I felt like switching and around that time high mp missions like labs and crimson beast had just started to come out, so I decided to try out every class and level it to 5. The class I like most turned out to be guntecher and I stuck with it.
The difference is the people who stay fighgunner are the ones who take full use of their abilities. The use traps, level bullets and have balanced PA's between melee and gunner like the class name says.

well that and there's a stigma around fighgunners. a lot of people are calling them noobs and whatnot...so rather than subject themselves to it, some would rather just swutch classes.interesting thing about that is most people switch for that reason ARE the noobs. xD

in any case it's a good class, but not many people know how to play it well. I had some idiot yesterday going on about how he was a double saber specialist. lvl 79, old ID#...doesn't even know about what else is out there. "what's a blck bull? what's SPS? Why would I want to do desert goliath, nothing good drops there" so all he does it spam his DS PAs and THAT's what he calls a good fighgunner. as soon as he said all that I wanted to black list him and leave the party...I swear he was mentally challenged.

Anyway I enjoy the class thoroughly, and as long as you really know your weapon selection, understand your PAs and your enemies...and really make use of that info, keep at what you're doing. It's ignorance that makes ANY class noob.

Sad part is that Double Sabers attract alot of people who just want to "be cool"....Me though, regardless of the general publics attitude towards our class, will NEVER be anything else (Cept occasionally PT but thats rare). The stats are perfect for my playstyle, the weapons are perfect. I mean come on now, kicking some major ass with Twin Daggers and then busting out a mechgun/dagger, using Buten's combo and then blasting the enemy to death with a lvl 11+ bullet...Its just AMAZING the stuff you can do with this class. <_< Its very versatile, but alot of people that play it don't see past "OMG DARTH MAUL!1!!" And whatnot...Another sad thing is when other fighs say I gimp myself for NOT using double sabers...-_-
    UNHAND ME THIS INSTANT! D<

I use a double saber for large enemies to lock them down. but aside from that, I favor my spears or my dagger/mech combo.

But yeah this double saber craze is exactly what makes FGs so widely shunned

i love the class, but even if i may not be using it properly, i'm still coasting through missions and s ranks. double sabers...eh fine, i use them a lot, but generally if i want to tag every monster fast in large groups of people or get some of the monsters away to solo them out. traps are great in S rank missions ^_^

x.X traps are not meant be spammed, especially by fighgunners. every G trap you use is 500 meseta. the cost of a photon charge. that means fore every trap you drop, you could have refilled a weapon. I only use traps on things when they need to be burned and no one else seems to want to do it.

a good fighgunner doesn't need to worry about tagging. most everyone else would be worried about tagging because the FG is killing stiff off too quickly. seriously, even on S2s, FGs with their weapon selection and high atp...things die far too quickly for it to be considered fair.

But seeing as how you just started, I won't get on your case. just do your best to learn the class and experiment thuroughly withe every weapon type and their basic PAs. get your skills to 21 asap and find out what their properties are so you can make full use of them. No one can talk trash if you're clearing rooms as they enter.

Eh, don't listen to n00bs. Traps is a good thing. Keep'em on you, because there are always situations where they'll come in handy. If your job can use traps, you should have'em on you.

I am considering in the FAR future a female cast FI because they are simply the shit. But that won't be for a while, though.

I love the way female lolibots swing away with their large, double ended sabers.
