the mechgun I use after following niloklives advice are 4 beamvulcanics ground to 4.

The question I'm posing was brought about by someone I was partying and have some respect for, touting the merits of xbow over mech gun...until I wasted like 4 jarbas.

None the less, what he said peaked my interest.

    Fire rate

    Projectiles per shot

Secondary effects( and the lvl of said effect).

So I wait for you response

    Thank you

Uh,you shouldn't. Just use both,if I understand what you mean anyway.

Seems to me like Mechs are better for damage and xbows for SE/Mob "control"

Since your using vulcanics, you have plenty of PP. The only thing I can say is with an xbow in order to stack damage you must be a bit closer. At least with a mech you can weave in and out with a constant stream of damage. As a Figh anyway. xbows are awesome though,it just means you give up a tad bit of damage/range for SE's.

Crossbows are great for dps and spreading SEs around. Currently FG only has bullets to 20, but in the expansion, we get level 30, which means at 21 it shoots 3 bolts instead of two, and has SE3 as well. I would suggest getting your bullets up now to get ready.

Fighgunners with crossbows in AoI are going to be pure awesome.

Dagnabbit, I failed to realize that little fact about Fighgunners in AoI. Guess I'll be switching out the Handguns for Xbows.

I plan on soloing desert terror and the economy of the xbows SE made me wonder if I give up the mech gun thrill of terminator lvl power vs. Mob control/ termination a/ SE and shiratsuno zashi.

It seemed to me it could be a bit more economical.

In the end,I think you'd prolly end up better with a xbow. They never seem to run out for me.
I just can't pass up dropping a Jarba so easily. Not that you can't with an xbow,I'd just rather not wait or be that close.

in AoI, xbows will be far more useful for fighgunners since they'll get SE3 and the 3rd bolt along with fighgunner atp. the SE2 xbows cap at just isn't worth it over the mechgun DPS. but once AoI hits it wouldn't hurt to have a few bullets at 21+ on standby.

so to claify, there ARE no benefits to the xbow at the fighgunner's bullet cap. stick to mech guns, but lvl up a few xbow bullets to use for AoI.
