MAG question, please help!

So, I recently lost a force character that I put a ton of time and energy into. One of my favorite parts about it was the kumara/ ?clam? MAG that followed it around. When it came time to make a new character I decided to try a hunter, but couldn?t help but think about that MAG. I checked the strategy guide to check its pattern of evolution and discovered that it?s a Force only type.
The question is this: Are all MAGs equippable by all classes? IE could a hunter equip a Force-evolved MAG if he came across one?
Please help, I miss my clam!

You can equip any mag you want... But that won't stop it from changing.

If you really love your little plasma clam, get a friend who's a Force to raise one to L200 for you... otherwise, the first time it hits a level divisible by 5 it's gonna morph on ya to a hunter type mag that follows its attribute pattern.

Supposely you can also lock down a mag shape by increasing its DEF to over 50.
