Forgive me for being a bit of a dunce, and not finding it in my Search of the forums, by why will this end up ruining a Wii? Related, but will playing the game normally also have such an adverse effect?

Now I'm halfway scared to play any Gamecube games on my Wii >_>

Sorry for the mild hijack, too, but thanks in advance

Don't be afraid to play your game cube games, they don't wreck your wii. The problem is the same for the gamecube, pipping for rare monsters require the machines to do a lot of loading which will wear out the drive. Normal game play won't do anything to your machines it's only those who spend hours piping back and forth from the ship to the planet that will ruin your console. That is what Alex was talking about.

Exactly. That is why I provided an alternative mean to finding rare monsters

EDIT: Added #7 to the list.

Ahh, okay, thank you! Just the way it was written as "...it will take longer" made me think playing them in general would ruin it, too. Either that or there's a faster way to ruin a Wii, aside from just hitting it with a sledgehammer.

Maybe that's why I keep getting errors on my Cube, though, playing Eternal Darkness and Metroid Prime and all for hours on end.

this is good enough to be a sticky in my opinion, but just as a post to being in player matchup, being a sticky is a deathbed unfortunately.

Number 8 added. Figured it should be said as well. Maybe it will get people (some, not all) to read the stickies.
