So, after we unlock it, would this mean that it would be added to the current MAG map, or would it be a new mission entirely?

It's added to this MAG map. I believe you need to have at least 10 minutes in mission time before it unlocks.

I think once you beat the Mines area, it gives you the option to continue to the Ruins. It's part of the same mission.

If we are following japan's reward system then 35mil unlocks ruins. 80 or 100mil is going to unlock the boss.

Educated guess by our current rate is that we'll have ruins unlocked late monday night.
