hmmm doesn't sound like co-op mode is in, unless
Competitive mode is co-op but with competitive based
    ranking charts.

good news it's coming to Xbox360, the miffed news
is that it isnt coming until September. >.<

but it's a good thing I skipped DW6 and waited for
something like this to be announced.

what's strange is that it was released for PS2 in
Japan. so not sure if Xbox360 is getting a straight
port or they are gonna update the graphics and maybe
    even have online features.

I've seen a few of the videos of the JP version of Maou Sairin- looks very promising so far.

Having said that, Koei could probably dish up anything, call it a game, and I'd play it I get totally addicted to Dynasty Warriors games, and have Warriors Orochi too. The graphics don't actually need an update- I have the PC version, and it looks beautiful.

While the Warriors Orochi games are blatant fanservice, it's great to have a massive, diverse character cast- only a few characters have copied movesets.

I'll wait on more details I guess, but I'll buy Maou Sairin eventually.

Edit: Before anyone comes in saying 'Koei games are too easy', you haven't played Warriors Orochi on Chaos difficulty. It's insane ._.

oh ya! even DW5 back then on hardest was no push over!
but ya my fwends enjoyed the co-op and team attacks and stuff.
so maybe Competitive mode is sorta like co-op, as long as there is
    no friendly fire.

um um, unlocking characters in this sequel will be decent like before
right? Koei hasn't whipped up some crazy new requirements to unlock them all, huh? just curious.

but ya I don't buy every since one, just the best
ones I like from the current generation. like I
owned DW4. and I then got DW5. I skipped all the
XL and empires. I skipped SW, SW2, WO, and DW6, so now
    I'm interested in WO2.

you know ever since DW:Gundam, I always imagine how
cool it would be having a Dynasty Warriors Suikoden.
or a Dynasty Warriors Bleach (shinigami vs. hollows)

I'd definately recommend trying Warriors Orochi if you can, it's a very solid game, and Maou Sairin (sorry for the JP name, I don't know what it'll be called in English- something like Warriors Orochi 2: Rebirth of Demon Lord I think) links to it, as far as I'm aware.

As for unlocking characters, in the original WO, most characters were unlocked through playing the Story Mode on Wei/Wu/Shu/Sengoku. After that, the rest were obtained by doing certain things in missions (like killing certain generals in an order, or preventing any messengers escaping). Most were pretty easy- I don't play much now, but I have about 5 more characters left to unlock, which are pretty difficult ones- the likes of Tadakatsu Honda and Lu Bu.

I'm not sure how the unlock system works in WO2, but I'd imagine it'll be a similar method to the original game.

Another Warriors Orochi!? The first one was awesome, until you get all the characters. I hope this one has a better way to acheive unique items better then the first.

Does this one still have that stupid "both players have to pick the same characters" thing?

I don't know if you're referring to an offline co-op mode or an online one, but you can believe at least Story mode will allow two players to play at the same time... just as Warriors Orochi 1 and ALL Warriors games have done in the past.

There was never a seperate "co-op mode" to be selected off the main menu. Second player would just press Start during Story or Free mode.

That, at least, will definitely be in WO2.

Man, I can't wait for this. I loved Warriors Orochi (I bought the Japanese version when I wan in Japan ), I'll probably bring my Xbox 360 over to Japan and buy the Japanese version or that too, although I'll have to mod it to play Japanese games I think. ._.
