Seriously, though, learning katakana is ridiculously easy. The language barrier is only present when you run into kanji or grammar you don't recognize, but even that is possible to overcome. If you can play PSU in English, you probably don't even need to read the menus any longer anyhow.
u dont lol when i join JP servers all i need to learn is how to read the weapon types so i know what board i have :P lol

I already have a JP PS2, which I use for playing Super Robot Wars. Menu memorization is something I'm use to. I don't know if I should join yet, I have around 400 hours dedicated to my characters and starting over is gonna be hard. I'll have to take some time to consider.

You're just lazy or stubborn to listen to others...or so what I've heard to those people who tried to help you.

Yeah, it would be awesome to merge the servers. That way, those of us who can speak Japanese here like me or Espio who would want to play with Japanese people would at least have the option. But yeah, I might consider moving to Japanese servers. o.o

nice idea of putting it on the wiki
I think it should be stated that you cannot cancel the 30 day sign up until after your 2nd month begins

so basically you have to pay for a minimum of 2 months

To your first question, I think the exact same first question is asked in this thread:
    http://pso-world.com/forums/showthread.php?t=145391

    Hope that helps.

    edit:
As far as I know you don't need the original PSU disc, but the AoI one.

You only need the JP AoI disk, not the orginal PSU one.
