Japanese homocidal maniacs?

Okay, I've heard and seen something like this. Japanese people seem to have the ability to kill other players. Now, I don't know how this works, as I was playing with some Japanese, and they somehow were hitting me with their swords, but it didn't do any damage. All it did was get me to a PB, which is what their intention was. I'm not sure what exactly happens. If anyone knows, please enlighten me. It's a wierd little mystery...

Was told its a bug on the japanese verion game but there is a hack for playes to kill another player.
