ShinB / Greensleeves

In PS2, Has anyone ever found out what these do or successfully use them? ShinB says something like "causes creatures to escape" ??? - but it seems to fail every time. Greensleeves make the sound of powering up to use ShinB magic but then also fails every time. I just chalked these 2 things up to --- don't bother with them.

yeah... Shinb is a very sucky technique in the game. It is more for the weaker enemies when they just don't matter anymore. However, even then, it rarely works.
