    Post PSU in comparison to...

    Hello Kitty.

I've made a good comparison guide for you all based on the following member's comment after I said PSU was a good game,

Also Sayara herself recommended that I post here so that this thread can stay on topic,

So without further review here is the visual guide.

PSU Vs. Hello Kitty Comparison Guide

They both have a good main menu that shows what the game title is. PSU looks a bit better though since it has a custom logo unlike the Hello Kitty one.
Main Menu: PSU > Hello Kitty

A carnival sounds like a lot of fun. I'm not really feeling any excitement for the space colony.
Screen Immediately After Pressing Start: PSU < Hello Kitty

This is the end of the Hello Kitty opening cutscene that wraps up in about 15 seconds and can be skipped. The cutscene for PSU is still ongoing and has to be skipped multiple times.
    Cutscene: PSU < Hello Kitty

More anime talking heads for PSU. Hello Kitty has a screen that is static until the start button is pressed.
    Pacing: PSU < Hello Kitty

An additional anime talking heads after being given the ability to move but before actually playing the game. Hello Kitty is still at the static screen waiting for the start button to be pressed.
Withholding of Game Mechanics: PSU < Hello Kitty

In Hello Kitty the point is to line up three delicious cakes in a row and then they go into the cake bag. Stacking three on top of each other makes a larger cake which is required on two levels of the game. There are six levels total. PSU's mechanics are around the same as PSO's except the timing is gone but it is back in the expansion. There are many stages with new ones added irregularly.
Game Mechanics: PSU > Hello Kitty

Overall I'd say Hello Kitty is good arcadey fun for five to ten minute short bursts while PSU is a good SEGA/scifi/anime RPG type experience for hanging out with people online for at least thirty minutes to an hour.

What do you all think about this comparison? I think I accurately showed the experience of playing them both. Your comments, suggestions and other comparisons are welcome in this thread. Thanks.

I came in here thinking it was another "PSU compared to PSO" thread, but then I saw it was Hello Kitty and laughed my ass off. xD Good comparison though! I like how you took the time to show the games side by side in each screenshot. Shame you can't skip PSU's opening crap or it would win hands down. ;o

Lilith: Female Newman - Force 4

    Also, ...Hello Kitty? Really?
Oh and, do you play PSU using that SEGA Playsation/PC controller thing?

I wasn't expecting PSO. I was expecting one of the more popular MMOs (coughWoWcough). So this was quite refreshing and entertaining. And who doesn't love Hello Kitty?

Hello Kitty cannot be played outside of a Hello Kitty Dreamcast, you pagan!

I was wondering that too. the saturn USB pad is a great controller but for a 3D game? how do you do that?
    SEGA!

Xpadder is needed for it to work properly. But unfortunately GameGuard blocks that program. So I usually use a PS2 controller instead but that isn't very SEGA-y is it? I do use the Saturn controller for PSO on PC, emulators (mainly Super Hang On), and on my Dreamcast.

This is without a doubt the best topic ever to have been posted on PSOW. You, sir, deserve an award.
