Does anybody know what the new item in Gallon's Shop is?

Topic, and does the candy do anything other than sit in your inventory?

The new item in Gallon's Shop is CD vol.6. When used it plays an english version of the Nights theme song used during the online quest Dream Messenger (though the quest version is in japanese). Changing the language setting does not effect the language played in the song. All the CDs are one-time-use items, but the song will play as long as you remain in the game it was used. Also, you can use them offline and then reset the game to avoid losing the disk.

I don't have a candy yet, so I can't answer that question.
