In general, I like to keep my name the same or similar to my forum name.

I'll stick with Kevin, and hopefully get a decent section ID. I was fine with being a Whitill RAmar in the original PSO. Of course this is all hypothetical, and assuming they keep the current section ID system.

I actually don't tend to 'reuse' names for any character of any game. That way, each character that I have ever created remains unique. And I try to make the name match the character in some way, whether their personality or appearance.

PSO:
-Guardian: My main RAcast, named for being a big android who looked like he was guarding somehing.

-Evanescense: HUnewmeral with a ghostly appearance, hence the name since it means 'vanish away'

-Elyan: Recently made him a couple of days ago on PSOGC. Not the same Elyan from PSP2. HUcast with all-white armor, and interesting enough his section ID is WHITILL

PSP2:
-Elyan L'Cross: Male Cast with a knightly appearance and white parts. Name refering to Elyan the White from Arthurian Legend, and by his in-game nickname of the 'White Knight' Last name is somewhat connected to the LCROSS NASA program, as one of Elyan's favorite hobbies is space observations.

-Leronz Nox: Male Beast with a darkened and delusional view of the world. Last name is latin for 'Night', since Leronz specializes in dark photon weaponry. First name is an incomplete anagram of my first name, Lorenzo, and is mostly used on generic Dark Knight characters, which I see him as one.

This is just the few that I have made. I would list more, but then there would be a wall of text

And of course, like someone else stated, I too make the name before or during the character creation process.

My character has been named "War" since the original Dreamcast Ver.1 PSO. It actually originated from "Wargreymon" because I liked digimon... and was then shortened to "War" XD
Thus all my characters are named War.. even alts and different races.. kinda bland but everyone I know calls me War.... even in RL sometimes lol

People in real life sometimes refer to me as Rauga, because they don't know what my real name is. Which is fine by me, because I like Rauga more than my real name.

I have used Syrus for my male characters for a while now (at least since Xbox). I don't remember my Dreamcast names outside of Venger (which I think was from the old D & D cartoon).

For females I use Jessica my wife's name.

For PSPo1 and 2 at least, my main characters are the newman female Force called Crystal and the male human hunter called Shard. I'm simply billing them as a famous mercenary pair (or couple if you will - haven't decided yet) called Crystal Shard. ^_^'

There's also Deis Mk 3, version three of a cast ranger Guardian who worked with them in the past, and Celise, created in PSPo1 but never used, who's a member of the Knights of the Steel Rose who joined up with the above three during the crisis in PSPo2.

Finally in Infinity, I'll be adding Shard's sister Nacalia (probably younger sister) who was infected by the SEED during PSU (which I skipped, so I don't know much about the events that happened) and the male cast ranger guard who's assigned to escort her, called Varren, a homage to the old bulky androids from the old PS games (Shirren, Forren, both also known as Wren).

In PSO, I started using the names Natasha and Raywin, who were characters in a little pet project of mine, but after a while I decided to shift to names that were more in tune with my own online ID. Episode 1 and 2 also saw me creating 12 characters, both to cover all the section IDs and unique weapons, and also as 3 teams of competing hunters, but it took too long to get most of them past level 20, let alone level 1. Two of my current PSPo2 characters, Celise and the original Deis Mk 1 also first appeared in PSO Ep 1 and 2, a Fomarl and Racaseal respectively.

Kirukia: I originally made this name up for maplestory because so many names were taken. I ended up using it for other games and it became fairly unique to me. If you typed it into google most of the stuff that came up was related to me
Now apparently other people use it >__> It's apparently a swahilian plant or something too.

Luna: Moon Goddess in Mythology

Mistral: .hack Original Series

Megaera: Erinyes in Mythology, although I originally found out about the name when she was used as a Golden Sun: Lost Age summon.

Geric: A variation of Gerik from Fire Emblem

Freya/Freyalise: Mythology. Sometimes I use the full name because Freya is so common. First became known to the name because of the planeswalker Freyalise in Magic the Gathering Invasion Series.
