Pleasantly surprised to find out that a MacBook Pro 15" 5,1 (Late 2008) runs this game fairly well. With the built in dedicated 9600m, I've got all settings put to the top, took off blur, unlimited frame rate, and it runs quite well. Not too bad for a four year old laptop.

Most decent Core 2 Duos with dedicated graphics cards of any kind over 256MB, should handle the game pretty well with many of the settings up. Even more so than the not-so-well-optimized Blue Burst, this game was made to run on 4 year old machines. There's only the few settings that require today's rating of upper-low/medium-road gaming graphics cards. Key-word. Gaming card lists.

For instance, a GT640 1GB GDDR5 is a modest gaming card and can generally max out the graphics with barely a hiccup. However, this game especially can fool you for how to judge consistent frame-rates by eyes alone. And that is, only if you pay attention to foliage particle animations from destroyed high grass, etc. Because the particle animation is forced to animate with a way slower frame-rate than the rest of the game, it can make it look like it is slowing down when in reality it isn't. You may still see completely smooth and fast animation, in the background behind it, while you see this slowly animated grass blades.

I've been checking a few of things, and I have a few things to choose between. Money is a issue, but I'm being quite unsure about what choices I have. If anyone is able to tell me the difference between the Nvidia cards, I'd appreciate it.

This is the one that Bunansa choose, which thanks to him got me looking at it (Thank you). - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834215661
Nearly the same price as this one. Or this slightly cheaper one right here ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834310630 )

I also see this one too off Amazon, but it really doesn't have any return policies. http://www.amazon.com/Acer-Aspire-V3...pr_product_top

    What's the difference between them?

This one I found off Ebay. This one I like, but Ebay makes me weary but everything else seems like it's good, including upgrade capabilities if the reviews are accurate.
Is there any other links to this model of laptop?

I see it at a nearby store on special for 300 dollars. How well will that run PSO2? or games like Just Cause 2? I know the card doesn't really have much VRAM, but would expanding the RAM help?

(As a matter of fact, would expanding my own ram or something would make this computer run things much better? My computer says I think it's DDR3 with 6 gigs, dual channel. Graphics are stuck on that INTEL HD Graphics 4000, is there any way to improve that at all? )

I guess I'm getting a little bit of the cold feet of "Should I be returning this and getting something else? Should I just stick with what I know works and not risk getting something else?" I'll probably end up getting Bunansa's laptop unless you all suggest one of the other ones.

This is the laptop that I have right now.

How well will PSO2 run on this computer? Or any means to upgrade this laptop? Because it was gotten in 2012 and it was meant for my college classes, I might be able to list this as a school expense and get some of the money back.

Edit- I searched and found this.

Having more vram only helps for more options in game effects and such but not for performance, for the Best Buy one and Samung, it has a integrated intel HD gpu which is not that good for higher settings but only for the lowest settings, better off with the Nvidia 630GT-640GT.

From the laptops that you listed, the best one is the one that Bunansa posted, and the 2nd best is the cheaper one you posted from Newegg. Either one of those 2 are good options.

Ok. So I ran the benchmark. I got I believe a score of 925, and maintained a average frame rate of 30 Frames per second on graphic setting 2.

    How good is that?

Ran it again. On Graphic setting 5, it ran for a average of 20 frames and got a score of 368, if I remember correctly. It actually looked kinda fluid.

2000 is the score that you need to get to run the game well. You probably have to go down to 1.

I ran it at one, and got a final score of over 6000.

If I knew how to read the settings, I'd probably try to finetune it to see if I can change something. 2 looked rather nice compared to 1. Hopefully I can find it. I do remember hearing how they kept on saying that this graphics chip has a extra power mode or something when push comes to shove.

Well, the actual game has the option to limit your FPS, so that might help improve your performance at 2.

    Come again?

I'm not sure how limiting the FPS to a lower amount helps. It I assume makes the game run at a constant rate, but the aim is to make it run at a normally playable rate, not a lower rate (or something like that).

Ran setting 2 again at a lower resolution and got 1814 as my score. Maybe I could tinker with this...
