Man, that's exciting. I'd love to make digital worlds like this.

What do you think you'll be able to do with this skill?

I originally just wanted to learn Zbrush and Maya for some future art classes I want to do. But now, I have this urge to create worlds and maybe some sort of simple game if I can get into it enough. I am already scratching the surface of gameplay stuff, and it looks doable in the future, though still pretty hard. That would also mean I'd have to learn to rig and animate which is a big pain in the ass.

Oh man yeah, I could tell you some absolute Rigging horror stories if you're ever up to it Q. Though your first works with Zbrush and so on are super awesome and I definitely wish you the best for any future works!

I have some dark history in 3D Studio max when I was a teenager, so I sorta know. I also watched a youtube video of someone showing how to do it right, and it seems like a fuckton of work where a slight error will make everything go wrong. Good stuff!

Made a little video of my 3D stuffs. Just did some practice on making a landscape in UE4. These are mostly my self made assets, except the ground textures and the color textures on the rock. Those are just some default that come with the engine. Materials and such are all made by myself.

    That's...kinda sexy

I just looked at the 3D stuff. That's also pretty sexy.
I just downloaded Game Maker, so I'm finally seeing what's involved for making games. I still don't know how to do the 3D stuff, but like, I can't even start making a sprite.

Indeed, sexy stuff there. And that skirt is dangerous from behind.

Zora I've been using GML for years and believe me, it's not the easiest coding language, it's not even a proper engine, since you make everything yourself via code. I've watched some Unity tutorial and was like WTF, 50% of the hard work you do on GM via codes, you do it using some easy drag and drop on Unity.

I can highly recommend Unreal Engine 4 if your computer isn't super old (it needs to support at least Shader Model 4 iirc). UE4 has a visual scripting language for game logic and putting together your scenes and materials is also quite easy. Also, it's been free for a while, if you didn't know.

This should give you an idea how it works:

UE4 for 3D, and Unity or GMS for 2D. And yeah it's free, as long as you aren't making good income from the project.
