New console (as far as the PSO franchise is concerned) new fresh untapped market.
I'd say Sega was either testing the waters with the PSP games or actually just dove right ahead because they thought they'd get more money there.
They're going to piss off some people, or leave them confused, like Squeenix does lately with their "experiments" in game design. But I'd say the PSP library is richer with PSP and PSP2. And probably Sega as well than if they just focused all their effort on the main PSU game.
