Ok so a friend and I went through Valley of Carnage, Mine Defense, and Tunnel Recapture and at Vio Tongo Lobby he had to step out so I figured its getting late I should hook up my headphones and ditch the speakers so I dont wake anyone. I guess you can't plug an AV cable in while HDMI is plugged in? It reset the XBOX!!!

So all that work for nothing? Or can he get me where he is somehow... ? There's got to be another way. If not we can start over I guess, but thought I'd ask here first.

Edit: Neither one of us have been to the casino (on another char on my old acc years ago I did but I assume since neither of us have on this one the special flight is out of the question?)

As long as you visited the lobby once you can go back to it by talking to the npc adjacent to the flyer base. You were going the right way to the casino btw, you had to clear Caves of Ice and next play through Awoken Serpent to get to the casino. I misread a paragraph. As long as your friend is still in your party or sends an invite to rejoin his party while in the lobby you were in before you disconnected. You just need to talk to the npc near the flyer base. Select the 2nd option and she'll warp you to the lobby your friend is in.
