How do you sign up for the Open Beta if you already have a SEGA ID?

I'm trying to help a friend out but i dont remember how because I did it a long time ago and I can only find out how to do it for closed beta and i think it's changed.

I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure you simply download the client, start it up and sign in.

no because there's a countdown for the beta registration and a countdown for the beta release.

the countdown is for a special in game item, if you register before the countdown ends you get it
also you only need to register once for any of the betas and your set.

oh okay. I'm trying to figure out how to register for a friend though not for me. But he doesn't need to register to play the beta then?

That's what I was trying to say. I think as long as you have a SEGA ID you'll be able to sign into PSO2 on Thursday.

okay I was just confirming because Mike told me in a previous thread that I needed to do both.

If you already have a Sega ID but have yet to sign up for any of the PSO2 related services, you'll need to do that before you can play. Sign in at this link:

It may ask you to change your password once you sign in but you don't need to do it. Once you get to your registration details, click the button that says "サービス選択へ."

Scroll down to the middle of the next page to where it says "ファンタシースターオンライン2" and click the button underneath it to register. If it says "サービス利用登録済" then you are already registered and ready to play.
