Problem with the ore extraction quest in the desert..

My team and I have repeatedly run the 3rd desert mission with the drills, and while we can get to third area with ample time, we cannot get the drills to work right.

The drills appear and we run up to them then we start pressing the E button repeatedly as fast as we can and the bar gets to the half way point but then it goes back down and it won't go back up again or go past the half way point. We tried going to other drills but it makes no difference.

It's extremely frustrating and we don't know if we're doing something wrong or if there's some sort of lag or a glitch causing the drills not to work.

Please help!

Only press e when the drills are glowing white

What moeri said. I usually look at the drills though, since the white light tends to glow in and out it's hard to tell when it stops. Spam E when the drills are rotating only, if you do any other time the bar will diminish again.
