I have accomplished three 50% chance soul failures in a row and refuse to shell out even more right now because this happens every time I do this for literally seven or more consecutive failures. Not an exaggeration, I count every single time.

    Fuck chance-based.

    You are not alone, gigawuts.

Damn, that stuff gets old fast.

It really needs to go. There's no way to positively influence your changes besides a 5% modifier...which solves nothing. Bad dice rolls still screw you over. Streaks of ridiculous amounts still exist. It is bad, bad, bad, bad, bad design, and it's an insult that it was even implemented this way.

    But that's for another thread.

PSU was worse, I failed three 91% synth in a row (rare weapons, obv).

Luck-based to me means it'll fail.

Anything involving luck over skill is bad game design, anyway.

I think it was when I failed five monomate production attempts in a row that I said fuck PSU. If not monomates, then it was some random one star weapon I was just going to sell.

People keep saying PSU was worse, but as you said that doesn't make this system good. It just means PSU was worse. Know what else was worse? Hitler. (Obligatory godwin's law etc.)

Back to the topic, though. A little while ago I found a rare drop off of a Fordran! It was that pink wired lance. I was playing normal. I like to pretend it was really an ardillou, though.

It's obviously meant to be a gold sink. How effective it is, I have no idea.

I might believe that if it was actually removing that much from the economy. No, most of the money lost is in the form of opportunity cost in items you could've just sold instead.

I do not understand why grinding, synthesising or adding abilities costs meseta at all. It already costs you grinders, synthesisers and a weapon altogether all of which at a success rate below 10%. The meseta fee is such a bad idea...

Well, that's the actual sink part. Why affixing outright consumes weapons and grinding costs two grinders for rares, or why the rates are so piss awful instead of just costing more meseta, that is the real question.

    (The answer is irl money)
