You get around 15 cobalt medals per run. A single trigger costs 10. Even with only one person buying triggers you could do it in a few hours if you wanted to. I don't though.

If you check party's sheet you always can find several of them running with expert unflagged especially at japanese prime.
So I didn't spent any and still have my 17 stored. Besides there's a nasty lock to by only 10 each week.

Someone was spamming 6th Angel triggers and I did a bunch, managed to get a camo and 13* rear drop.
