First three are defense units, press F6 to equip them. The last one is Moon Atomizer, you can set it on your subpalette (F7), and then use it to revive people.

In case you're not aware, there's an English patch for the game that translates a large portion of it. I'm not using it myself, so I can't tell from the screenshots if you're already using it.

I don't use the English patch, unless its released by sega I won't be using it.

That's true, but it translates the "equip armor" menu which he could have clicked on and seen what those items were. It'd also probably answer quite a few of the other questions he's sure to ask sooner or later.

If you couldn't even work out that those are armour/units, then you're in for one hell of a ride.
