im having the same issue... black screen pops up with the same error. Running AMD Athlon II X4 GTX 460 and Windows 8 Pro. Disabled the firewall, ran in compatibility, ran as admin, turned UAC off, checked files, reinstalled, replaced .exe, set permissions, reinstalled directX, updated graphics driver, closed every single damn program that was open, NOTHING WORKS.
