Didn't it happen the very first day on ship 2? But basically yeah, it doesn't change anything. You can't access Falz, end of the story.

It did, yes. I recall fighting the hands on the first battle, but the Falz Elder quest was never shown after that.

Again, it was a bugged EQ. Ship 2 did not fail. The quest came up under a normal EQ announcement (it was the second EQ of the day), so it did not track progress or unlock Elder.

I did hear though in the first few weeks that ship 1 lost to falz. And I think I heard another ship did after that.
