excluding red/blue/crafted weapons, 7 star and up weapons have the hidden dex that limit you to hit between 90%-100% of your max power, but once you craft your weapons, that goes away and you hit between 60% -100% of max power. Crafting should not be used for anything 10 star and higher.

But there is no disadvantage to crafting units? Or is there one?

So I've been on a shitty laptop now for a year and a half almost. I finally built a desktop but I can't seem to install pso2 the way I did originally. When I click on the downloader it tells me it's not available to be downloaded on my server. Even though I didn't want to go through arks layer, I did try that also but it says I need bit torrent which is being blocked by Google chrome. Anybody who can help me I'd appreciate it.

You lose hidden boosts on crafted units but the set effects stay, so yes there is a disadvantage.
