I have been trying to read the millions of posts, but i didn't see clearly the answer to my question.

If I play offline now (increasing my time), does that mean i can no longer log on to the servers? How does it differentiate from people who run the clock to people who just like to play offline and online?

Yes Its true, I work for Mcdonalds

"Yes Its true, I work for Mcdonalds"

    ROFLMAO

sorry, oh and btw just a note but people need to quit being so paranoid about everything. If this game is freaking you out that much and your gettin that worried about loosing stuff then ya people need to step back for sec.

I dont see what your worried about Mistker, i play about 50/50 off and online, never had a BSoD never had item lost, never had ANY probs. Yes maybe i'm lucky, or maybe I just keep it positive and that positive energy surrounds all and blah blah blah, lol.

Chill out people its only a game.

Hey Mistker email, im or whatever me, maybe we can hook up latta tonight and you can show Ryiko some of those mad force skillz

</td></tr></table>It's very easy to take that stance when you've never fell victim to a bug/glitch that destroys the time that you've invested into the game. That's why people get upset ... because it's not just a game, it's their personal time that they use to get enjoyment.

If you counter with, "Then don't take the game so seriously" I would retort with, "Then why take anything seriously at all?" If you enjoy something, especially passionately, then obviously you're going to be serious about it.

You even stated that you were lucky to never have your character lost. Just try to place yourself in the shoes of someone who just lost their 50'sh level character to a BSOD. Then think about having to reinvest all that time to get back to where your character was before.

You may think, "Oh it isn't that big of a deal" but just think if you consistently playing with a group of friends and now you have to start from scratch and can't join in with your friends when they make ruins/v-hard runs.

Most people who invest time into a game such as PSO are far from being casual gamers. Casual gamers wouldn't get the same kind of satisfaction out of building up a character over time. There isn't that instant gratification that casual gamers are looking for.

So please, before you say, "It's just a game" truly think about the time you invest.

I do not want to start anything. I DO know what its like to loose something very valuable you have put hard earned time into. Ever hear of the game Everquest. Needless to say I have been a victim many times in EQ and i've spent days moping around being buffed out and misserable but why?

Whats even worse is in EQ I pay 10 bucks a month. I PAY THEM to play a highly adictive game. I game to the conclusion while starting my second character on EQ that I would never again alow myself to suffer emotional stress from A GAME of all things.

This is not a family, this is not a girlfriend or a boyfriend, this is not a job that pays your bills. This is entertainment, and when you put entertainment ahead of your RL priorities then it becomes an adiction no different than gambling.

PSO was rushed plain and simple. Sega did not take into account that with player side saves cheats and hacks were ineveitalble. They did not learn from Diablo, with IMHO should have been their bigest stepping stone because PSO has many elements of it.

I'm sorry. I am not at all trying to condemn or critizize anyone for playing a game to have fun. I am as well enjoying this game in my spare time. However I enjoy the company, raising my MAG and yes maybe finding a rare. However I enjoy more going out with friends, working out, doing something that makes my boss proud thus earning a raise (that part is real nice if and when it happens hehe) things that actualy affect my life.

</td></tr></table>Neojin, so basically you've taken a step back from being a hardcore player. That's all fine and good for you, but you have to realize that just because you made a decision to make video games less important in your life doesn't mean that everyone should.

Hardcore gamers are the reason the industry is still alive today and that we still occassionally get quality games put out. If everyone were to take a step back and basically become more of a casual gamer, then the industry would eventually reach the shallowness of the movie industry.

Sadly enough ... even this is inevitable. The industry is already on its way there and video games are beoming more widespread. There's really no stopping it at this point. But as long as there are still hardcore gamers, we will still get quality titles.

Let the hardcore gamers continue to pine over their game(s) of choice and not intrude upon their beliefs and interests with your own. Otherwise you're just being rude.
