There is just one other question I have; When I use AWS for the first time, will Sega send me an authentication email or something? I only ask because a friend helped make my account and he doesn't remember what email he used >_>;

If you set it up to work as a PPTP VPN, you won't need to use any special tools to connect. You'd just be able to connect to your VPN from within Windows and play.

Whenever you could make a guide for the non-vi inclined, I'm sure many of us would appreciate it!

So far what I tried was... (Semi walkthrough, but mainly that I'm not setting it up properly and would like anybody that knows how to perhaps correct anything?)

- Start up Putty, Insert ec2-user & password

(Downloaded PPTP)
- sudo wget http://poptop.sourceforge.net/yum/stable/rhel6/x86_64/pptpd-1.4.0-1.el6.x86_64.rpm
- sudo yum localinstall pptpd-1.4.0-1.el6.x86_64.rpm

- sudo vi /etc/pptpd.conf
added (by hitting [i] on the keyboard to go into insert mode)...
- localip 192.168.9.1
- remoteip 192.168.9.11-30
...near the bottom where the commented out ones were. (I left the commented ones there as well).
I hit [esc] to exit insert mode.
- :wq (to save and exit pptpd.conf)
[Note: I'm not going to say insert or esc for anything else anymore, this was just to help out others in case I did the right step]

- sudo vi /etc/ppp/options.pptpd
added
- ms-dns 8.8.8.8
- ms-dns 8.8.4.4
again, near where the commented ones were
- :wq

- sudo vi /etc/ppp/chap-secrets
Added after the first line
- user1 pptpd pass1 *
- user2 pptpd pass2 *
[Note, insert actual username/passwords here]
- :wq
(I don't know what the usernames are for yet... but *shrug*)

- sudo vi /etc/sysctl.conf

- net.ipv4.ip_forward = 1
again, near where the commented one was

- sudo vi /sbin/sysctl -p
(Brings up a big gibberish blue screen... idk if I used the right command.
- :q

- sudo iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -o eth0 -j MASQUERADE
(Nothing seems to happen... if I drop the sudo, then it says I don't have root permission...)

- sudo vi /etc.rc.local
(I believe this is a new file I created... so I might not have used the right command here either...)

- sudo /sbin/service pptpd start

- sudo chkconfig pptpd on
(Doesn't seem to do anything? Wrong command?)

Don't know how to check/enable ports for the EC2 instance.
Can't find a variation of the "/var/log/message" to check if the VPN is working or not.

Then I wanted to try working on the next part... (Windows 7)

- I went to the Network and Sharing Center
- Set up a New connection or Network
- Choose Use my Internet Connection (VPN)
- Inputted IP and named the connection
- Inputted User ID and Pass (Same as User1 Pass1 from "sudo vi /etc/ppp/chap-secrets"?
- Selected "Change Adapter Settings"
- Selected Properties on my VPN connection
- Selected IPv4
After that... I don't know what I'm supposed to do for your steps of setting up Split Tunneling. The window that comes up looks like this image:

Same here. I wanna try this before I go buy ProxyCap. I managed ti get to work, but it said my VPN had no network access...

So has anyone tried this with Freecap or Widecap yet? It's kinda silly having to depend on these trial versions, and the PPTP method is very convoluted and doesn't have an idiot-proof guide. If we want this to be free for the next year, we're gonna need some solid alternatives.

I couldn't get Freecap and Widecap to work, so I ended up just buying Proxifier.

I can't get proxifier to work. does anybody know of a free proxy program to replace proxycap? if so, can we get detailed instructions? i cant pay $36 just for proxycap THEN get premium. Not to mention when i switched to Comcast PSO 2 started lagging in the log in screen. >.< why don't they want me to play!?
