After all this time, I still got no idea exactly what the DB skill ring does. What do they mean by "appends striking damage when player moves using shift action"? Anytime I try move using the shift action, I don't see any damage from my Photon Blades increasing. I try doing directional + shift -> JA attack and I don't see anything increasing in damage either.

What am I doing wrong?

It's basically snatch step for the moving DB weapon action. The best way to see it would be to use it with no gear and run into an enemy.

Snatch step for DB, so it's the directional +shift -> JA normal attack? I've tried checking the JA normal attack from that combo and I don't see its damage increasing by 500%+.

EDIT: Oh wait, you mean just the shift action into an enemy? Does that really damage them in the first place? 0.o

Normally no, that's what the ring is for.

they do, its called photon blade fever

The DB Snatch Ring does let you do roughly ~1.35x (maybe more?) DPS with TCPBF if you dash into the target. Might work when moving back and forth too (need to test that more though).

Max the ring out. It's pretty alright actually, especially since you should be throwing blades as melee filler to begin with.

The ring sucks. Save yourself the time and grind and focus on a better ring

It's worth mentioning that the multiplier on the ring is 1500% at +10 and 1800% at +20, don't judge it by how it is at +2 or whatever.

What does that actually mean for damage in the hands of... oh say 3000 s atk, Br/Hu, and break stance with break sd?
