Maybe throw in some new enemies and field bosses. This is as open world I would like the game to be.

    So not quite.
Do you know what kind of lag and blue screens that would cause O.o?

Shiiiiiiiiiit I can't even start pso2 without getting blue screens every now and then the lag people get won't even be comparable to eq's anymore. Lol I know this idea is pretty next to impossible because I'm sure sega wouldn't do this in the first place. Also such a big update has a huge potential amount of bugs that may initiate hard drive wipe version 2.

Still seems like a cool idea.

    Absolutely and definetibly NO

For a number of reasons. Starting with some tecnical fact. PSO2 can have the amazing gameplay that it does, only because it dosn't have an open world or PVP. Those things would give a lot of trouble tecnically to mantain such high speed gameplay, and it would take much more resources than it does today. Im not saying its not possible, but it would take much more work to add every piece of content, and the often massive updates we are used to getting would stop being so frequent to say the less.

And as a preference thing, i don't want it either. Im a busy person, i have a job and am studying a terciary course, i dont have time for games like wow anymore, and that's mostly due to the fact that open world games usually eat an enormous amount of time just walking arround, exploring and whatnot. One of the big advantages of PSO2 and one of the main reasons i keep playing it even while busy, is the fact that i can go in, do a few quests and go to sleep, it wont be wasting my time for hours just to get to the place i need to do the quest, i can just group with my friends and go down to a planet to clear a goal, done.

So yes, i can see how people might want both pvp and an open world, but i think PSO2 had to sacrifice those things for a reason, and it paid up enormously, im ok if they make bigger more open maps for future planets (actually the new planet in ep3 looks more open), but an all out open world sounds like a terrible idea to me.

I won't vote because I'd like a Phantasy Star game that is Open World (early PSO tried to do that I think...didn't happened because of the console limitations of those times), but I wouldn't like PSO2 being Open World, even the areas are goddamn large so I'd be pretty bored running around 2xDistance for 2-3 mobs

I only want a city lobby open world exploration. Wanted it on the Pioneer 2, wanted it on the Guardians Colony, and want it on the Oracle fleet. This time at least we can grasp it from the balcony... and walk around in emergencies... but I want a place with traffic, with people, not just being a military op in a restricted area with only military ops and a few civilians.

Why is the Ark ship so small when it's an Ark... ship? ._.

Oh well, glad all that time spent killing for nothing is about to pay off. Casino bitches. o3o

The Red and Blue rooms should be scrapped then they can use all that extra space to expand the lobby even more.

As if SEGA's server can handle that.
Also, can you just imagine 20+ forces spamming tech at the same time?

There used to be this MMORGP from Korea called Yogurting. It was an all instance based quest/mission game with some really unique systems to it and people liked playing that. Then they did an big update and added some free MMO-style free for all field to it. Hell they made it so it's better if you just grind those all day. That killed the game. The developers dropped the project after maybe a year into the update and the Japan server died after absolutely no contents added for like, 2 years.
