Lightbulb Dragon Ball XENOVERSE = the Phantasy Star Online of fighting games

This is AMAZING!!!! It's over 9000 whoppers!!!!

They are revolutionizing Dragon Ball gaming and adopting the genius Dragon Ball Online
lore and content to expand the series in more creative ways.
This could have it's own PSO sized community.

    Spoiler!

Here is a cool preview article

    http://www.dealspwn.com/preview-drag...se-star-181001

By rigidly following the series story arcs and religiously focusing on the characters, they've never given us the chance to see how we'd fit into their universes. They've got all these cool powers, abilities, weapons and skills, yet we're rarely able to create our own avatar and really become a part of their world.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse is finally going to change all that. Now we're the star of the show.

Dimps have been teasing a mysterious new character for weeks, and finally revealed their identity at Gamescom 2014. The new hero is us, a fully customisable new chararacter who we can design to our specifications.
Character creation appears to be impressively deep, at least considering that it's the first time we've seen it to any great extent in the series. Your first choice comes down to race, which modifies both your basic appearance and your combat role. Earthlings are typical jack-of-all-trades with strong if unremarkable stats in all areas, potent with Ki attacks. Meanwhile Majin are much tougher and resilient with higher base HP statistics, whereas Namekian heroes continually regenerate their lower health pool.

You're then able to set your gender, skin tone, hair style and physical attributes -- height and weight -- which actually factor into gameplay. Bigger and bulkier characters will hit harder and suck up more damage, but naturally move much slower than shorter lithe brawlers. Finally, your special moves can be picked and tinkered with both in terms of type, damage and cosmetic effects. Yes, you can become a Super Saiyan, before you ask.
it's clear that Dimps are using the power of the new-gen systems to great effect, as evidenced by wince-inducing facial animations as characters take a crunching hit, and an impressive level of detail. Havok physics and new Yebis 2-powered lighting make their debut too.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse is slated to release next year, and details are still thin on the ground, but we hope that it will be a breath of fresh air that lets us finally step into the Dragon Ball universe ourselves; not through somebody else's eyes.

They are having a beta test in Japan this month and EU beta test early October.

newcomers include Supreme Kai of Time, Tokitoki, Mira and Towa (two iconic antagonists from DBO!!!! )

It's coming to PS3, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PS4.

    Spoiler!

I share this info for those interested in a unique flavor that PSO veterans since Dreamcast
can appreciate (well at least fans of both PSO and DBZ).

And I like how they name it DBXV instead of DBZ, this goes to hint
how revolutionary and innovative this is for the franchise itself.

It isn't a RPG dungeon hack or an mmorpg, but for Dragon Ball, it's authentic 3D fighting flavor
is fitting for its style and theme. Plus it seems like it will include PVE content besides PVP.
It might include 2-3 players online co-op, at least for the story missions or some kind of missions.
Local versus is said to be confirmed. With the online HUB, it will connect the community in OUTSTANDING ways, plus with the customization and refreshing story perspective, the old and new can be experienced in exciting, creative and more personalized ways.

Now with character creation, even the roster itself will go over 9000.
In my opinion, this kind of formula has what it takes to make Dragon Ball games
more popular and fun, with greater possibilities and ways to enjoy it.
Now people can not only play Dragon Ball, they can LIVE Dragon Ball.

An ongoing Xenoverse series makes sense and it's in the right hands, combining the
best gameplay from Budokai and Tenkaichi also.

As for Super Sayians, in DBO, Humans (descendants of sayians) could use the dragon balls to become super sayians.

though think they now have two separate races (Human and Sayian) in Xenoverse,
So Humans could have their own power up, and Sayians have, of course Super Sayian.

Oh please. It's like these days people can't be enthusiastic and share bundles of info
on things they are enthusiastic about without being labeled as some employee or
    paid mercenary.

I think fans of anything want what they are fans about to succeed
and be liked by everyone that's interested in it and help others discover it sooner,
not for the sake of making money themselves.

Like really, are people so selfish and selfcentered that they think everyone doesn't do anything nice things without profitting from it; without some monetary incentive to make extra effort to inform the community of something they could be excited about and benefit from that information?

most people don't browse and search for all this info , and especially
    not in one effecient bundle of sources and information that would take hours to find it all themselves;
past and present information and media.

It's like the only ones that don't get questioned is if like a board moderator posts the scoop instead. Well yes, I haven't posted here for like years, PSO hasn't really come to consoles,
and not interested in Monster Hunter, even if it came to console I use.

but this is something I think some other PSO fans could probably relate to and find valuable
(even though it's a different genre, it does share some design fundamentals that connects
the community aspect with its core gameplay in an immersive, interactive, and customizable way instead of matchmaking lobby screens. kinda of like how PSO reinvented console rpgs and pioneered social ORPGs on console. )

so I shared whatever sources of info I gathered here, so people learn as much as I know
about it to date. I think this could have a lot of loot to obtain to expand the customization.

Hey not my fault sega alienated the western console PSO fanbase for so long and dropped the ball with how they handled PSU (well they did screw up the Valkyria Chronicles franchise, among other things, and where's Streets of Rage 4? ). My return should have been expected when something at least a tiny bit relatable to PSO surfaces. Oh on that note, found more goodies, include Towa and Mira profiles http://gematsu.com/2014/09/dragon-ba...ters-join-cast And an extended trailer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFMYwg-WAwA

I'll probably end up buying it for 2 reasons. It's Dragonball related, and it's coming out on PC. It looks fun imo.
