Default is there a relation with the weapon atribute and the status efects

i want to get this weapon http://gyazo.com/cfa9c57cac0e422671234590d1d5e06e

and my question is : does the dark damage increase the poison chance ? im considering chage the atribute to light and i want to be sure first if there is or not a relation

also i have a cannon legacy with dark damage and freeze and my question is : do you think i should change it to light or leave it in dark just for variety

The elemental attribute is entirely separate from any affixes the weapon may happen to have, or any skills you might take on your tree, or PA/tech you choose to use at the time.

Light / Fire are overall the best elements because the most enemies are weak to these (all darkers are weak to light and maybe an additional element).

But Shironia and iirc Facility enemies are weak to dark (Facility enemies weak to ice, too?).
However, the main problem here is Cannon Legacy is shit, so better get a better weapon.
And element change cost at least 500k, light or fire as much as 4+ million.
For that money, get a good weapon with the right element and dump Cannon Legacy.

Facility enemies are primarily weak to ice with few exceptions. Nothing there is weak to dark.

Actually Nero-type darkers (Dagan Nero, Bread-idaca Nero, all of the red-hue versions of darker bosses like Alonagahda, Gwana, Agrani...etc) are not weak to Light.

Of course this is a tiny fraction of darker types but just an FYI.

Not all rare darkers are Nero's. Rinze Drahda, Mi Micda, and all bird darkers (including rares, as well as rare NachoDorito) are still weak to light.
