Lightbulb Xenoblade Chronicles X , the ultimate sci fi RPG?

Just got gameinformer and read more about it. Decided to watch videos and learn more and I'm actually interested in this now. It's really what Phantasy Star Universe or a console Phantasy Star Zero should be more like, IMO.

*It has main character creation like PSO, (not as customizable as PSO2, but still good options to be found in the customization options, and good looking character is possible.)

*open world that is unique to itself
and refreshing from other open world games that are largely western influenced.

*mechs you can pilot in realtime (well Phantasy Star wasn't known for mechs, but PSIV did have 3 vehicles that can be used for combat. So mechs actually would fit in a new Phantasy Star if they wanted. Way cooler than vehicles. )

*mix of realtime and cooldown combat

*over a dozen party members that have their own part of the story.

    *online co-op and community features

    * vast exploration on foot before earning Skells that change the way people experience the world.

    * different weather

    * deep story

    * Xeno-ness in the character designs

    * tons of post game replay value.

    * lots of depth in all gameplay aspects

Japanese gaming publication Dengeki gave the game a positive review, referring to it as a masterpiece; they praised the gameplay, detailed world, story direction, and music, and said it has a "very high degree of perfection"

With Sega doing nothing for big budget single player Phantasy Star RPGs, looks like Xenoblade Chronicles X is the only worthy and most ground breaking sci fi RPG to play these days. Plus on top of a phenomenol single player open world RPG, it also has online co-op content as well.
One could imagine what they could do with direct sequels on the NX.

This feels like the most innovative sci fi RPG since the first Phantasy Star Online.

Actually, I'm almost surprised that more people haven't brought it up. It goes to show the issues of good games that go under the radar because people don't bother to research the library across consoles.

Xenoblade Chronicles X is looking to be the next Xenogears, but with hopefully more audience attention. From a pure gaming-substance point of view, this will likely be the next biggest RPG of a generation for which way more people *should* be excited about than is.

From the crazy amount of Mech(Skell) customization, to the large open world. To the fact that your mechs are now multi-transforming mechs with at least 3 real-time transformations to use. The fact that there's a number of layers of combat skills, tactics, and character building. That there are even in-game Clans you can join to take advantage of various ways you can approach the open-gameplay completely different than in another Clan. It actually affects world/skills that matter so you excel at various different methods towards gains, making you play with a different approach to exploration, hunting, and combat based on what you pick. (Something you might see in something akin to Elder Scrolls, but hardly ever in a JRPG) Thus the replay-value is through the roof.

There's so much here, you'd wish you could do in other RPGs, I feel it would be yet another shame if this gets ignored. We've had a number of those who did, across many platforms, since the PS1/Saturn/N64 days.

Still, at least this is getting a better advertising campaign than most of those others; as long as people are willing to actually look into it when they see it. Alas, you can lead a horse to water.

Alas, with the lack of western PSO coming in the foreseeable future. (And my thousands upon thousands of hours I've poured in Phantasy Star, across the years. By far, the one franchise that I've put more hours into than any other videogame in my life)Xenoblade Chronicles X is going to have a lot of my attention.

what.... Skells have THREE transformations????!!!!! What, is Nintendo insane being so casual about this localized release???? Well I know they aren't being cheap with this localization like Koei is with most Dynasty Warriors (still no dubs!), but still.

Konami bribes major sites to give MGSV TPP a 10 out of 10, along with effective educational gameplay demonstrations that explore all parts of the gameplay, while Nintendo is doing the bare minimum to educate the masses about Xenoblade Chronicles X?? I know Nintendo is kind of giving up on Wii U and looking towards NX, but XCX could produce Wii Fit sales numbers if they hyped it enough.

This could be the Final Fantasy VII/Xenogears of the Wii U. No, more than that!!
It most definitely is breaking new ground for JRPGs and RPGs in general, in the best ways.
Whatever channel Nintendo is using, it's not as effective as youtube and major gaming sites that millions follow. They were foolish to skip TGS. Well the Nintendo fanbase could wake up and not miss out on this. And it's an exclusive on top of that!! This RPG alone could get more Wii Us in more households than any Mario, Zelda or Metroid they come up with.

Not everyone discover things at the sametime. All the more reason for nintendo to bring the marketing to greater heights for more to notice besides their small circle of followers. And I'm only as informed as I am because I do research and look for more info, whereas whatever nintendo sends out there is doesn't stretch out to all gaming sources, though they are starting to be more informative in magazines, sites, and other places. But it takes more than cover art, LE and few feature descriptions to gain more interest and attention.

    It's like someone said:

I like to think NCL made it clear to NoA that this game must sell. That Nintendo home consoles need it's own premiere RPG. Just as it has it's own racer, platformer, adventure, and now shooter it needs it's own big console RPG. Xenoblade X is that series now and they put the money behind it.

There is no way this game was made on the cheap. A repeat of what happen with Xenoblade 1 likely can not happen. If my theory is right and NCL could be the one driving this we might actually see advertisements for XCX the way we did for Splatoon. That games success I hope has opened NCL's eyes about what can happen when you actually push a new game the way you would push a Mario game.

Seen at least 3 different types. Depending on the type of Skell, we've already seen Bike transformations, 4-wheeled vehicular transformations, and Tank Transformations.

The main idea being that your mechs can either run on the ground, be a vehicle on the ground, or take to the skies via flight. The flight transformation is supposedly similar for all types, but not available initially.

Thing is, the main thing they should do is ramp up TV adverts and stuff as they get closer to release. They have been putting out a lot of content about it, on the Internet as well as social media. This includes a number o videos and even video footage of panels that show lots of gameplay for 40+ minutes at a time. The only thing that's left are TV adverts and maybe a bit more push to gaming sites to have even more interviews and footage all without spoiling too much.

Oddly enough there area number of gems on Wii U now, it's just that it was missing the same level of sexy-advertising money spent like certain AAA third party games have gotten. In some ways, it makes sense, given some of those advertising budgets were way out of wack in terms of spending, where it was too tough to break even due to it. Companies like Square-Enix definitely got hit with that truth bomb. Now they're getting a little smarter with it.

I'm a bit curious where Nintendo will go with it. They did amazing with Splatoon (a meme-creating commercial or two withstanding). They also seem to hit the right channels for Animal Crossing games, knowing where their audience tends to look. I hope they know that Mech fans are Everywhere, do comprise of a large paying audience cross-consoles, and are literally *Starving* for some Mech Romance to grace the big screen these days. Especially since most mainstays or great starts in Mech Combat have sort of given up or at least been on a long hiatus.

LBX is cool and all, but that's portable only and without the same level of science fiction writing and intense scale of desperate situations.

I wonder which Limited Edition The Netherlands will get, we tend to get shafted on that kind of stuff but I want one pretty badly ;; I played Xenoblade so much and I been looking forward to this game for years now.

I'm going digital this time, I have gained a very bad habit: if a game is not inserted in the console, I can stay without playing it for days lol Curse you Steam! and I have a discount since I bought the first one on the eshop, and I'm currently playing it for the first time.
