Default Valkyria of the Blue Revolution announced

Famitsu features this week what we already heard rumours of, the registered names Aoki Kakumei no Valkyria / Valkyria of the Blue Revolution (two different registers, so there is a chance for a western announcement), together with a PS4 port of the first game.

Can't wait to see those scans at full resolution.

I'm really looking forward to this one -- assuming it gets released in the West that is. Sadly we did miss out on 3, but considering the first one came to Steam (with a PS4 release soon), I have hopes.

I think I will be able to enjoy it as a generic JRPG, but the experience will be far from the one in the original game, in the original game you had a squad with very vulnerable troops (not all of them...), fighting against an army of somewhat positioned enemies, with awful AI, but at least they looked tactically organized in the turn based system. Here we have 3 superhumans, dressed like they are going to shop, fighting against a bunch of dolls with no sign of intelligence and with gameplay mechanics that look too simple for an action game.

After watching the demo, yeah it is a bit sad they changed it, but at the same time I'm interested in seeing how it will be. Yes it seems to be more action rpg styled, but at the same time it looks like we'll have to watch ourselves and plan out our attacks. They flat out stated your characters can die (forever), so I'm sure running and gunning/hacking and slashing won't be quite as easy as the demo makes it look.
