Default Mining Base 4: Demise - Guide and Information thread (WIP)

    Very much a work-in-progress.

    Current discussion thread:

Videos and wave strategy notes by Firesword:

Read through this thread for more info. I'll try to compile the most important stuff here.

    Fundamentals of Tower Defense:
    1. Primary goal is to prevent damage to towers at all costs. The less damage, the better reward. Always keep this in mind.
    2. Pay attention to the map at all times, preferably the zoomed out map.
    3. Know what spawns where, and when. Try to be aware of where everything is at any given time.
    4. Know what poses the largest threat. For TD4, it's probably Biblas Bomb > Exoda cannon > Goldrada suicide bomb > Decol Maluda > any Falz's AOE > Dropships > Damoths.
    5. Prioritize. If you see enough people in your target area, go somewhere else. Never have more than needed players in any single area.

    General Notes:
    - Enough time for two attempts.
    - It is imperative that AIS Exoda do not start to fire their photon cannons at towers. Once they fire, it will take a tower's health down by 50% immediately.
    - Dark Falz Dourumble, Hunar and Angel can potentially do large damage to the towers via their AOE. Tag them on spawn and keep them away from towers.
    - When fightnig Apprentice, the multi MUST stop the phallus laser beam or it will be game over. AIS photon cannon can stop it fairly easily.

    Class Tips:

    Hunter:
    - Hunter War Cry is very useful, especially for tagging bosses and resetting AIS Exoda hate (it removes their anti-AIS buff).
    - Partisan Volg Raptor has a huge multiplier against AIS Exoda.
    - Slide Shaker is effective against Damoths.

    Fighter:
    - Knuckles' Backhand Smash can make short work of AIS Exoda.
    - If you need AOE for Damoths, try Knuckles' Straight Charge, Daggers' Bloody Sarabande, or Double Sabers' Hurricane Sender, Chaos Riser or Tornado Dance.
    - Double Saber's Hurricane Sender and Chaos Riser can be used to gather mobs.

    Ranger:
    - AIS Exoda legs aren't affected by Ranger damage multipliers. Aim for the head.
    - Weak Bullet is weakened when applied to AIS Exoda and Apprentice. As such, if other bosses or dropships are around, use Weak Bullet on them first.
    - Use Gravity Bomb to gather enemies and keep them away from towers. Note that it cannot be used on top of Zondeel (it will detonate outside Zondeel's range).

    Gunner:
    - Shift Period can be used to take out Damoths.
    - Showtime is very useful, especially for tagging bosses and resetting AIS Exoda hate (it removes their anti-AIS buff).

    Force/Techer/Bouncer:
    - Buff other players with Shifta and Deband when you can.
    - Use Zondeel to gather mobs and keep them away from towers.
    - Use Il Grants on Biblas to stun it with Panic.
    - Burn can stunlock Apprentice. As such, Combination Tech Fomelgion is basically a guaranteed stun.
    - Use Zanverse when many are gathered in one spot fighting a boss.

    Braver:
    - Katana's Guren Tessen is very useful for fast travel. Use it to get to towers quickly, or to gather crystals. See my Guren Tessen thread for more details.
    - Katana's Kanran Kikyou can take out Damoths fairly easily.
    - Sakura Endo can be used to break Goldradas' face/back of head easily.
    - Bow's Banish Arrow has a huge multiplier against AIS Exoda.
    - From long distance, you can use Banish Arrow on AIS Exoda's cannon and then snipe the head with Last Nemesis.
    - At close range, you can use Banish Arrow and spam Penetrate Arrow at Exoda's head.
    - Note that Exoda headshot collision detection is above their head, not their head or eyes.
    - Million Storm is effective against Damoths.

    Crystal and Socket Info:

    Gathering:
    - Crystals are worth 10 points during Wave 1-3, 20 in Wave 4-5 and 30 in Wave 6.
    - There are crystals all over the map, but mostly on the outskirts of the map.
    - There are some jump pads to get to the outskirts of the map.
    - Later on, some corners housing about 5 crystals will be blocked off by Darker walls. AIS can still jump over all of these.
    - 6000 crystals is enough to clear the quest.

    Socket functions:
    - Basic turrets available at 100 and 1500 points.
    - Burst Barriers available at 500 and 2500 points.
    - Heals available at 1000 and 3500 points.
    - AIS available at 200, 6000 and 8500 points.
    - Photon cannons available at 4000, 7000 points.
    - Socket cleansing available at 100, 500, 1000, 2000 and 4000 points.

    General Strategy:

    AIS Exoda:
    - AIS Exoda are the largest threat here. They must not be allowed to fire their cannon. They will always spawn at the same places, and always at around the same spawn order.
    - See the AIS Exoda section for more details.

    Damoths:
    - Damoths will fly up to towers, pause a few seconds and then charge into the tower for large damage. They also deal huge damage AIS. However, they don't have much HP.
    - Try to take Damoths out before they get close to towers. It may be a good idea to have ranged stationed at each tower.
    - Burst Barrier can deflect damage from Damoth flies.

    Priorities:
    - Tag bosses and keep them away from towers. Especially Decol Maluda and the Falzes. Decol Maluda alone can destroy a tower very quickly with its projectile attacks.
    - Players riding AIS should clear walls and dropships if they can.
    - Take out trash mobs while the bosses are busy. Deal with the bosses last. Don't all focus on bosses unless there's literally nothing else to do.
    - Apprentice can destroy all the towers if the phallus laser is not stopped. It is top priority. However, a single AIS Photon Cannon can stop it.

    AIS Exoda Info & Strategy:

    Spawn info:
    - AIS Exoda always spawn at the same places, and with the same spawn order (ie. after certain packs/enemies are killed).
    - They show up as small dots on the map.

    Spawn locations/order:
    - WIP

    Strategy:
    - Top priority is stopping the Photon Cannon.
    - Breaking both leg points will cause them to kneel and reveal weak point for about 20 seconds.
    - AIS Exoda are weak to non-AIS players, so it's best to deal with them on foot.
    - AIS should ignore AIS Exoda unless there is nobody else around.

    Photon Cannon:
    - They will always charge Photon Cannon on spawn. It takes 15 seconds to complete the charge. You must stop them before they fire.
    - Once they fire Photon Cannon, their target tower will take 50% damage immediately.
    - They will only use the Photon Cannon once.
    - Photon Cannon can be broken to prevent laser. It can be locked onto. However, damage dealt to it is separate from the AIS Exoda itself.

    Behavior against AIS:
    - AIS deals reduced damage against AIS Exoda. The opposite is true for non-AIS players.
    - When an AIS is near them, they will gain a huge buff aura. For this reason, AIS should try not to engage AIS Exoda.
    - AIS automatically generates hate just by being within Exoda sight range.
    - As long as an AIS hasn't hit them, a non-AIS player can still take top hate by dealing huge damage.
    - An AIS hitting them at all will generate massive hate. The only way to reset their hate after an AIS hit is via War Cry or Showtime.

    Dark Falz Apprentice Notes:
    - Can be stunned by Burn. Folmelgion is basically a guaranteed stun.
    - Decent chance to stun up to 3 times. After that, the chance is much less.
    - Apprentice seems to have 5 major weak points - ground left, right arm balls, and center core. Air (above head), two air-sac like things.
    - Each of the ground major weak points will rotate a shield around itself. Red = weak point revealed.
    - Air major weak points are reportedly vulnerable at all times, but likely require flying AIS or photon cannon.
    - Note that the air-sacs will summon balls that can destroy an AIS very quickly. If you see the balls spawning (dark red photon effect) run away.
    - Apprentice spits out exploding balls across the map (these also do big damage to AIS) and also plants mini bombs next to towers.
    - Mini bombs also spawn the bugs that can destroy AIS.
    - Surrounding area becomes a poisonous gas that drains 10% HP every few seconds if standing in it. That's 1000 HP per tick on AIS, so use ranged if you're in AIS.
    - At some point, Apprentice will grow a phallus out of its core, and charge a huge red laser that can destroy all three towers. You can stop the laser by dealing huge damage.
    - Apprentice will always cover the map with a falling red mist before it moves into position and charges the super phallus laser.
    - You can see the laser charging as a giant red glow.
    - AIS bum rush seems effective for finishing off Apprentice quickly.
    - Apprentice also has a phallus swipe regular melee attack.

    Dark Falz Apprentice Strategy:
    - 2 Exoda will spawn in front of Apprentice soon after the battle begins.
    - Frontal turret cannon at the start, because Apprentice often opens center core at the start, and you'll hit an Exoda when it spawns.
    - Don't use the mid-south AIS summon pads for turret cannons, because people will be trying to summon AIS.
    - If you're in AIS, watch out for little bulbs and stuff, flying around or planting near towers. They hit AIS hard.
    - Stop Darkers from reaching towers (mostly Damoths, so regular AIS shots work) and clear walls until someone stuns Apprentice via Fomelgion/Burn.
    - When Apprentice is stunned, use AIS cannon on the center core.
    - 15 seconds after the Damoths are cleared, 4 AIS Exoda will spawn, 2 on each side of the south tower.
    - If non-AIS people aren't strong enough, AIS should help destroy the guns on those Exoda.
    - After the Exoda are down, there'll be some time to just wail on Apprentice before Ultimate Darkers start spawning.
    - You can wipe out Ultimate Darkers with the shift+right click dashing slash, or shift+left click missiles. Alternatively, use the 2 key freeze bomb to stop them.
    - When a thick red mist falls over the map, Apprentice will grow a phallus and turn to one side (the side is random), then charge a laser.
    - 1-2 AIS cannon should cancel the phallus laser, and Apprentice will then be stunned with the phallus positioned in center map.
    - 1-2 AIS cannon to the phallus while stunned should finish off Apprentice.

    Wave Info:

    Wave 1:
    - Towers can be infected right off the bat. Multiple towers can become infected immediately.
    - Biblas appears immediately, from the south. Beware that Biblas can and will throw a bomb.
    - Following Biblas, a pack of Goldaradas will spawn behind him and charge at the southern tower (purple)
    - After the first pack of Goldradas is destroyed, another pack will spawn at the top left or right and attack that tower.
    - Soon after the second pack, a third pack will spawn on the opposite side of the map and attack the remaining tower.
    - One final Goldrada will spawn and attack blue.

    Wave 2:
    - Two large packs of Damoth will spawn on the edge of the map and charge a random tower.
    - After that, two large packs of El Adas, Mantises and a few other Darkers will spawn on the edge of the map and charge a random other tower.
    - Note that Mantises will teleport to the tower, as usual.
    - Following the above, a large pack of Goldradas will spawn along with a titled Dark Ragne, and they will charge the remaining tower.
    - Soon after, two large packs of Damoth will spawn on both sides of them and charge the same tower.
    - Another two large packs of Damoth will spawn and charge the other two towers.
    - More and more packs of Damoth will spawn and attack each tower simultaneously.
    - Some Goldradas may also spawn. Make sure they aren't around before time runs out, or they will suicide bomb the towers.

    Wave 3:
    - Infected socket towers will begin to appear.
    - Infected AIS Exoda will begin to appear. The first always spawns in mid center and is accompanied by a sinister theme.
    - Note that during this wave, AIS Exoda will only spawn around the center area.
    - Large packs of Cochronedas, Kyukuronadas and Gwonda/Gwandas will spawn and hobble towards random towers.
    - Duos of Ludan Sorcerers will teleport to a random tower and cause trouble.
    - After the initial packs of Darkers are defeated, 2 more AIS Exoda will spawn in the center (one on the left, one on the right).
    - Simultaneously, a few more Darker packs will spawn and attack a random tower.
    - One of these packs includes an Idetta (toy robot), Lans Verada and some Goldradas.
    - After a short period of time, two more large packs of Darkers will spawn, one with Wolgarda and the other with Decol Maluda.
    - When all of these packs are defeated, 3 AIS Exoda will spawn in the center.
    - At the same time, a massive Darker pack consisting of Decol Maluda, Wolgarda, Idetta, the toy house, Goldradas and more will all spawn and attack a random tower.
    - 2 AIS should be enough to clear the mini-bosses + Darker packs, and laser the last pack.

    Wave 4:
    - About 10 infected towers will simuiltaneously spawn. These need to be cleared out ASAP before they turn into cannons.
    - An AIS Exoda will spawn on the outskirts of a random tower. Once the first wave of Darkers is defeated, 2 AIS Exoda will spawn on the outskirts of two random towers.
    - At the end, a Decol Maluda accompanied with 2 AIS Exoda will spawn near a random tower. 1 more AIS Exoda will spawn at each other tower, for a total of 4.
    - It's super important to tag the Decol Maluda and make sure the Exoda cannons never fire.
    - I think the easiest way to deal with the AIS Exoda is to always have 1-2 people waiting at each Exoda spawn point (1-2 people for each tower).

    Wave 5:
    - AIS Exoda won't spawn until the end of this wave (I think).
    - Falz Hunar and Angel will spawn on the outskirts of two separate towers, sometimes accompanied by Damoths or other Darkers.
    - Angel takes a long time to use his AOE attack, so Hunar is the bigger threat. Take Hunar out as soon as possible.
    - After one of these is defeated, Falz Dourumble will spawn on the outskirts of a random tower. Note that they tend to run all over the place and have some nasty AOE.
    - About halfway through this wave, walls will begin to criss-cross through the center of the map. You can run around them, but it takes time. AIS should jump over or destroy them.
    - Once all three Falzes are down, Biblas Yuga will spawn with 2 AIS Exoda on either side.
    - Biblas Yuga will immediately throw a bomb, sometimes two. Expect walls in mid map, so AIS should take care of the bombs by jumping over towers if need be.

    Final Wave:
    - Apprentice appears. See Apprentice notes and strategy for details.
    - Apprentice will spawn walls in front of herself, and at mid-center of the map. She will also use a red breath to push people away.
    - Outer area of map floor becomes poisonous gas that deals 10% damage every 10? seconds. AIS can tap space to hover over the gas.
    - 2 AIS Exoda will spawn in front of Apprentice at the beginning.
    - Lots of Damoths will spawn and charge each tower.
    - 15 seconds after the Damoths are cleared, 4 AIS Exoda will spawn on the left and right of the south tower.
    - Darkers will stop spawning for a short while after the Damoths and Exoda. After that, Ultimate Darkers (mostly Goldradas) will attack towers.
    - When Apprentice is down to about 30% health, she will cover the map with a falling red mist and charge Super Phallus Laser.
    - Super Phallus Laser must be stopped before it completes charging.

I .... tried flying on Apprentice (using AIS). The core on head crown (2 core, left and right on crown, near the face) ...... is a weak spot, I think. I'll try checking it later. My recording ...... stopped mid-fight ><

Careful when using AIS. Corrupted AIS's Machine Gun will destroy your AIS quickly (about 1800 / hit)

Yes. The two giant eye-looking things at the top of its head are Weak Points. People in their AIS should be hitting these whenever Apprentice isn't exposing its Weak Points on the ground.

And as mentioned, Giant Laser is a DPS Check. Every one has to focus the Tongue when it extends or it's a failed run when it finishes Charging up.

Three little bugs that get out of her egg cannons on her shoulders can take down an AIS.

It looks like that in Wave 5, Falz Hunar and Dourumble are waaaaay more dangerous than Angel (except his uber mega lazah beam) btw.
