From memory, Persona managed to trap Profound Darkness in a time loop and that everytime the EQ pop-up, it actually happen again canonically, unlike Falzs EQ and the like. So not a big surprise that PD would get a 2nd host (which imply it may or may not reject Persona at some point).

Well, that loop also means PD gets infinite retries so kinda double-edged. And wasn't it PD itself doing the time-jump so it can regain its strenght after the latest round of face-punching it gets or smth? (Not in-game ATM so can't review the Event Chronicle...)

Either way it wouldn't be too strange for it to try and figure out a way to make more... proactive use of all that spatiotemporal bullshit to open a figurative "second front" somewhere, or something along those lines. Xion and [Persona] already pulled off something similar didn't they? And seeing as how PD is kind of an artificial analog of the former Gone Horribly Wrong and currently possesses the latter...
