Honestly it only bothers me because everything is compounded. The stamina pool is small, it takes a long time to recover, and you're encouraged to go for a long time each gathering session due to FEVER if you actually want to constantly get good stuff. If it was only one, maybe even 2 of those things I'd be ok with it.
Gathering will be nicer if they do the following changes:
1. Less stamina consumption from 10 to 3-5.
2. Faster stamina regeneration from 5 hours to 2-3 hours.
3. FREE stamina cost during Fever.
4. FREE stamina cost when using special axes / rods (good ones).
5. Less junks, more ores / gems.
6. More duration on the gathering foods.
7. Skill rings having more bonus. 3% at Lv.20 is just stupid.
Gathering is an amazing concept to introduce to PSO2. SEGA just botched the execution.
I hope the outcry from players all over the places will cause changes for the good.
... Then again, nobody really need a Lv.20 rings. Everyone can down the hardest thing in the game without it.

I disagree. I'm pretty sure Sega did what they intended.
It's just that a player-friendly gathering system where you casually mine for tomatoes as you see them and that will suffice is NOT what they were aiming for. Actually you can still gather like that. It will just take more time.
The system as it is now is all about careful maintenance of achievements so you get level ups mid-gathering and can get the most out of your fevers.
This may change as more non-AC stamina drinks become available.

the problem, is the rate. basically i only ever get the ring's materials in fever
but guarranteed fever needs you to go above 200 stamina, which = AC
I occasionally got fever below 200 stamina, but then what? don't have any left to mine from it.....
this system isn't fun nor engaging, it's just a shitty chore

Stamina system by itself is not really that big of a deal, but I can see why some are annoyed by it.
On one hand, we kind of experienced how 'gated' the way to the ring and improving it. Started by the ore and jewel, of example. Gathering them is somewhat a pain in the arse. Then, it continued by the ring upgrading methods. Want to upgrade the ring? You need the same material, again. Then reached the point that you can get minimum 10 effective mining during fever time......per 5 hour. Stacked on and on, most people would scream in rage. The claim that SEGA 'intentionally' monetize the stamina system might not be too far fetched.
On the other hand, we don't know how stupid people are......in a sense. There are cases of people died because of too much playing games. Video game-related death case are real, after all. I guess SEGA wanted to prevent that case happened to their game and playing it safe.......though, I might giving SEGA too much credit here.
Ultimately, this is day 2 of gathering system implementation. The system is somewhat okay-ish in my eyes, just need some immediate tweaks. Like the stamina cost for one action. Hopefully there would be improvements on this system further down the line. Maybe at the next livestream they would reveal their plan for gathering system. All we can do....is just wait and see, for the most part.
If they reveal nothing at their next livestream, then by all means we can go bitching about it again here.......I guess :v
