    Default Article: Phantasy Star Online 2 (JP) December 5th Update is Live, Christmas Content & More

    The December 5th content update for Phantasy Star Online 2 is now live and available for players to download. Weighing in at a whopping 4.6GB (2.2GB if you pre-patched), the update brings new seasonal content for Christmas and a large number of other updates to the game.

    Many of the contents of this update were already covered in our 11/30 news post, but here is a summarized recap:


    Christmas Content
    [*]Christmas Themed Lobby with giant tree & gift-filled stockings[*]Saint Rappies w/ chance of special drop[*]NPC with limited time Client Orders[*]Limited time Christmas emergency quest "Merry Christmas on Ice"[*]Christmas-themed Cake Shop (appears in above quest)[*]Campaign w/ rewards for clearing "Merry Christmas on Ice" (ends 12/12 @ 11am JST)[*]New Christmas AC & FUN scratch, including santa costumes & accessories

    Other Game Content[*]Parallel Areas (accessed via special teleport device, which will appear randomly)[*]New client orders & team orders[*]New partner cards for Clotho ???, Joseph ?????, Ravelle ?????, and Barbara ????[*]New weapons, including (but not limited to):

    In addition, SEGA has already acknowledged that there are some unintended side effects of this update, some of which are causing problems for players in-game. We're seeing some reports of these in the forums as well. SEGA is aware of the issues and will be working to correct them as soon as possible.
