Most 2ch players don't seem to mind unless one starts speaking English in lobby, spams annoying autoword SAs in EQs, is horribly undergeared/leeching, etc..

The only concern I have is with the real net-uyoku types that really hate foreign players just for being present. If you have a Character and PlayerID name that is in kana or kanji, you're pretty much safe as long as you keep a low profile, learn or know some basic Japanese and set quest names to your character's name. If not, then it's 4500 AC to change both, or 1500 to change character name.
