I love the buff change to the non-advanced classes which will buy a lot of my time before end of September, I like the DoA collab, and I like the halloween costumes. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    And Dark Blast whatever!

The male characters in DOA are far from uninteresting, be it through their design or their fighting style. "What about their personality?"... well you got me there, but hey, it's a fighting game...
I don't think Hayabusa is an interesting character but you can't deny that Hayabusa is the most marketable male DoA character. Its just a safe option on their part to use Hayabusa.

Ryu I only think of because of how he has a throw and counter that is always done perfectly regardless of computer's set difficulty level.
I'm referring more towards people who have no deep or even casual interest in DoA. What are the chances of Jann, Ein/Hayate, Bayman and Leon ever being used for collabs? Their designs are pretty basic and don't have the benefit of being a gaming icon like Hayabusa. I just think that those that are unfamiliar with DoA are more likely to recognize Hayabusa than any of the other male characters.

At the same time, I don't think there are many people who know who Marie Rose is but because she's gothic lolita archetype, I doubt they'd give a shit.

What they could do is keep Hero the "advance class" but offer a way to make regular classes feel advanced as well. Like something you would unlock once you get main and sub to level 80. That way you would have 2 different option, either you level up 3 class to level 75 and unlock the casual OP class, or you take time to master your main/sub class and get rewarded with a power boost or something. And please level 100 enemies...

Oh, for sure. I just disagreed that the rest of them suck. Them not being recognizable is more a result of DoA being both fairly niche and marketed as a game about boobs.

Just read up on the buffs. They sound pretty good, but with no exact values given it's hard to tell how much they'll affect gameplay. People who were expecting a full mechanical makeover for all older classes to match Hero were really expecting too much, though.

Since nerfing Hero isn't an option, I'm hoping the 2nd part of the buffs will take care of the classes that are still left behind.
