Default Episode 5 killed the game

The game is all fucked up now.

    Unnecessary nerfs to classes
Fucked up expert blocks so you can't find triggers
Hero is the Jesus class that does everything better than any class before it
Buster quests are a poor mans Tower defense with shit music
Cross block matching is broken and shouldn't exist in its current state
New pointless advance quest which are boring to begin with

Ep4 was bad but ep5 shits all over everything. Hero and the non existent content finally killed the game.

Every episode someone says this and every time they're wrong.

Edit: Nevermind,I take it back. This ep sucks and so does the rest of the game in its current state.

I will say that one thing I find VERY annoying is how when you go to take on a quest, the default setting is on "Cross-Block-Matching" so you have to manually click on the "Current Block" Button which:

    1) Wastes time

    or

    2) If you're in a rush and keep pushing the Enter Button to quickly take on a quest, you'll accidently accept the "Cross-Block-Matching" and go to another block and lose your place in the current block which is annoying as hell. This has happened to me several times and I loathe this. I can only imagine how it sucks for non-premiums who lose their place in a populated block.

Yesterday around 00:00 JST, when I was checking out new story chapter, it made me do the old BQ free match for the third and fourth times. Once again there wasn't any new solo content. It took 5-10 minutes to find groups for something that's supposed to be the thing to run. It was exact same shit again. And then I realized that there aren't even any new quests, just an added random possibility that new enemies might appear in the old quest. This garbage design disgusts me, and I'm clearly not alone on this one.

Speaking of old episodes, a lot of terrible design choices in the old episodes could simply be attributed to incompetence. The base content was actually interesting. In EP5, however, they have doubled down numerous times on Hero being the only class worth playing and BQs being the core thing. These aren't just side issues that have arisen in the process, it's asinine by design.

As much as I wanted to give them credit for finally addressing many issues that have plagued the game for years (ranging from big ones like block segregation and Weak Bullet to smaller annoyances like meseta autopickup being useless and campship freezing), the core game is now a repetitive mess that's also more trivial than ever. Pugs now clear PD in 4 minutes, and new difficulty that should've come ages ago is still nowhere to be seen. Balance changes that should've happened along with Hero release aren't coming until November, and that's just going to be a first batch, which most likely won't be enough.

Balance change is in October, not november.

The only part in this Episode that has tilted me more than the others was no longer being able to complete the story fully solo.

But it's not like I've been doing the story missions anyway, and the game has been a complete mess ever since I started playing it.

People put up with it, and haven't seen anything in this Episode that makes it that much worse than it was before. If the game ends up dying, it's not because X Episode killed it, but because people eventually get tired of dealing with all the past crap and it just dwindles.
Do you have ANY bug in PSO2? Are you creating yet another thread about how you can't take screenshots, your game crashes, or textures are missing AGAIN? Do you NOT search the forum before asking? Then the L.A.W. FIX is for YOU!

It's EASY! Just go: Tweaker -> [!] button -> Other tasks -> Enable Large Address Aware, and you're DONE! Just remember to do it EVERY UPDATE!

I disagree. Things like Banish combos and Maron definitely needed attention. Unfortunately, Sega over-steered with their corrections to make them barely compelling to use at all.

Fucked up expert blocks so you can't find triggers
Huh? The triggers are usually run on Block 11 (and sometimes Block 12), more so the closer you are to JP hours. However, some are started in expert mode, and some are started in non-expert mode. You have to switch between expert and non-expert matching to find them, which is pretty annoying.

Hero is the Jesus class that does everything better than any class before it
This is not strictly true, as some other classes still excel over Heros in certain situations. But Heros do have the tools to handle almost all situations well, so why bother with the others?

Buster quests are a poor mans Tower defense with shit music
I'm not really thrilled by BQs either.

Cross block matching is broken and shouldn't exist in its current state
I'm not sure what you mean. It seems to be working decently for me, definitely better now than when they were introduced, and I am pleased that we have it now over what we had before.

New pointless advance quest which are boring to begin with
AQs are great for gaining experience, but I have to agree they are pretty boring overall.

I agree that the game isn't in a great state right now. Hero is the meta, and that may not change for an entire episode. The boosts to the other classes that were promised for late October may offer a ray of hope, but Sega still intends to keep Hero ahead. I have my doubts for how much it will help.

AQs would be worth more doing if they added extra drops to make them less boribng, and possibly more challenging. At this point of the game, lv 90-100 enemies should already be in AQs and the like. Larger meseta drops and other incentives like casino coins, star gems and even triggers for bosses and mid-bosses we defeat in AQs could possibly drop as rewards from completing codes.

This whole switch stick and carrot system they have were one piece of new content gets overridden by the next best thing in a couple weeks and/or months makes running anything less rewarding (aka Las Vegas Quests and CFs -> Falz Mother Quest and CFs -> Deus Quests and CFs).

Correction: late October, which is, given SEGA's past records, October 27th. That's November in my book.
