Default Tech Crafting: Power Vs Speed Vs Hit Interval

Today I've reached a new personal goal of mine, reaching Tech Crafting Lv50.

Prior to this, I didn't bother too much when it came to tech crafting, it was power all the way if possible. Now with Lv50 crafting and a bunch of saved up tickets from Zieg that will allow me to buy 30% Merit tools, I can now try to perfect my techniques. Question remains, when the choice is between Power, Speed and Hit Interval, which one to choose.

I know there are other factors such as saving PP, getting better distance and having better status effects and if these are important to you, great, but they're not the topic of this conversation. Keeping only the Recipe 3 and Type-0 crafting in mind and removing the ones where neither Speed, Power or Hit Interval is affected leaves us with the following:

Concentrated Gifoie Recipe 3 Vs Blazing Gifoie Recipe 3
Blazing Nafoie Recipe 3 Vs Concentrated Nafoie Recipe 3
Multi Shifta Recipe 3 Vs Concentrated Shifta Recipe 3
Concentrated Ilfoie Recipe 3 Vs NOT crafting at all
Blazing Safoie Recipe 3 Vs Safoie Type 0 (like this is even a contest)

Ice Fang Barta Recipe 3 Vs NOT crafting at all
Multi Rabarta Recipe 3 Vs Ice Fang Rabarta Recipe 3
Ice Fang Sabarta Recipe 3 Vs NOT crafting at all
Concentrated Deband Recipe 3 Vs Multi Deband Recipe 3
Ice Fang Nabarta Recipe 3 Vs Nabarta Type 0
Concentrated Ilbarta Recipe 3 Vs Ice Fang Ilbarta Recipe 3

Concentrated Zonde Recipe 3 Vs Zonde Type 0
Swift Sazonde Recipe 3 Vs Supercharged Sazonde Recipe 3
Supercharged Zondeel Recipe 3 Vs NOT crafting at all
Supercharged Nazonde Recipe 3 Vs Concentrated Nazonde Recipe 3
Supercharged Ilzonde Recipe 3 Vs Concentrated Ilzonde Recipe 3

Concentrated Zan Recipe 3 Vs Windslicer Zan Recipe 3
Windslicer Gizan Recipe 3 Vs Concentrated Gizan Recipe 3
Multi Razan Recipe 3 Vs Windslicer Razan Recipe 3
Windslicer Sazan Recipe 3 Vs NOT crafting at all
Windslicer Nazan Recipe 3 Vs Concentrated Nazan Recipe 3 Vs Nazan Type-0

Brilliant Grants Recipe 3 Vs NOT crafting at all
Brilliant Gigrants Recipe 3 Vs Concentrated Gigrants Recipe 3 Vs Gigrants Type 0
Brilliant Ragrants Recipe 3 Vs Concentrated Ragrants Recipe 3
Multi Resta Recipe 3 Vs Brilliant Resta Recipe 3
Multi Nagrants Recipe 3 Vs Brilliant Nagrants Recipe 3
Swift Ilgrants Recipe 3 Vs Brilliant Ilgrants Recipe 3

Concentrated Gimegid Recipe 3 Vs Umbral Gimegid Recipe 3
Concentrated Ramegid Recipe 3 Vs Umbral Ramegid Recipe 3 Vs Ramegid Type 0
Umbral Samegid Recipe 3 Vs Concentrated Samegid Recipe 3

It's important to state why a choice is better than another "Just because I like it better" is NOT and answer and it's a waste of scrolling time. Only post about the techs you know enough to explain your choice.

A vast majority of offensive techs should be crafted for power.

I mean really you can just use the DPS chart for techs. Go for highest DPS unless you have a very specific reason not to.

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...2DQ/edit#gid=0

There are a few exceptions though.

Multi Shifta/Deband over Concentrated Shifta/Deband for because it improves uncharged shifta so that you can get both ticks before you can run off, all 5 ticks tops you off while you're running away. Plus if you're FO main, short charge renders concentrated redundant.

Nabarta sucks. Nabarta Type 0 is more useful in every single way.

Zondeel should be crafted for the extra range.

Concentrated Ragrants over Brilliant because Brilliant Ilgrants exists.

    Ramegid Type 0 because non-type 0 sucks.

    Gigrants Type 0 because non-type 0 sucks.

everything else should use the dps chart for reference.

I agree with GHNeko in that you should mostly focus on DPS, thought there are a few other things to consider. Mobbing techs might be better off Concentrated regardless just because mobs die so fast. It's more about getting hits in at all rather than maximizing sustained DPS. At this point I don't think there are any good uncrafted techs, so scratch all of those off.

There's also an element of personal choice too. I prefer the feel of concentrated techs, but I have a few power techs because they tend to be more efficient.

Concentrated Gifoie Recipe 3 Vs Blazing Gifoie Recipe 3 - mobbing, fast charge
Blazing Nafoie Recipe 3 Vs Concentrated Nafoie Recipe 3 - More efficient, but either works here
Multi Shifta Recipe 3 Vs Concentrated Shifta Recipe 3 - Makes up keep easier, uncharged for quick casting
Concentrated Ilfoie Recipe 3 Vs NOT crafting at all - Easier to use and more DPS
Blazing Safoie Recipe 3 Vs Safoie Type 0 (like this is even a contest)

Ice Fang Barta Recipe 3 Vs NOT crafting at all - I like efficient, so Ice Fang since it's more DPS and more efficient than uncrafted
Multi Rabarta Recipe 3 Vs Ice Fang Rabarta Recipe 3 - Multi for freeze and because the rapid hits sound cooler, Ice Fang isn't much more DPS
Ice Fang Sabarta Recipe 3 Vs NOT crafting at all - Sabarta isn't great, crafted is just less not great
Concentrated Deband Recipe 3 Vs Multi Deband Recipe 3 - Same as Shifta
Ice Fang Nabarta Recipe 3 Vs Nabarta Type 0 - What GHNeko said
Concentrated Ilbarta Recipe 3 Vs Ice Fang Ilbarta Recipe 3 - I like Concentrated because it's fast, but Ice Fang is generally considered better. Highest DPS when you use uncharged 1-6. I think uncharged 5 is the cross over point where Ice Fang wins out in DPS.

Concentrated Zonde Recipe 3 Vs Zonde Type 0 - Non 0 Zonde just doesn't do damage
Swift Sazonde Recipe 3 Vs Supercharged Sazonde Recipe 3 - I don't really use it, so not sure
Supercharged Zondeel Recipe 3 Vs NOT crafting at all - Wide Zondeel
Supercharged Nazonde Recipe 3 Vs Concentrated Nazonde Recipe 3 - I don't really use it, but I guess Concentrated lets you get hits in faster
Supercharged Ilzonde Recipe 3 Vs Concentrated Ilzonde Recipe 3 - Movement tech

Concentrated Zan Recipe 3 Vs Windslicer Zan Recipe 3 - Another I don't really use, but I guess Concentrated to get out damage faster
Windslicer Gizan Recipe 3 Vs Concentrated Gizan Recipe 3 - DPS
Multi Razan Recipe 3 Vs Windslicer Razan Recipe 3 - I use Multi for the 5 hit and stun and also because I crafted before tech adjustments, but it's a DPS loss now. I guess either is fine.
Windslicer Sazan Recipe 3 Vs NOT crafting at all - DPS
Windslicer Nazan Recipe 3 Vs Concentrated Nazan Recipe 3 Vs Nazan Type-0 DPS and utility, trying to get type 0 to hit walls/floor is less of a hassle than the regular version's limited range and knockback.

Brilliant Grants Recipe 3 Vs NOT crafting at all - DPS
Brilliant Gigrants Recipe 3 Vs Concentrated Gigrants Recipe 3 Vs Gigrants Type 0 - 0 is better at everything
Brilliant Ragrants Recipe 3 Vs Concentrated Ragrants Recipe 3 - Both are good now, but you have Brilliant Ilgrants so I'd take Concentrated Ragrants for a fast charging option
Multi Resta Recipe 3 Vs Brilliant Resta Recipe 3 - Both work, but Brilliant is more healing overall
Multi Nagrants Recipe 3 Vs Brilliant Nagrants Recipe 3 - I don't use this for damage really, more as a source of stun. Gigrants 0 is more useful in general anyway
Swift Ilgrants Recipe 3 Vs Brilliant Ilgrants Recipe 3 - DPS, efficiency, and tracking

Concentrated Gimegid Recipe 3 Vs Umbral Gimegid Recipe 3 - Dark Ragrants, Concentrated, but either works
Concentrated Ramegid Recipe 3 Vs Umbral Ramegid Recipe 3 Vs Ramegid Type 0 Against something huge, non 0 is OK, but T0 is more usable in general
Umbral Samegid Recipe 3 Vs Concentrated Samegid Recipe 3 - Dark Ilgrants, but both work. I crafted Concentrated originally, but it really drains PP. It's also better at range usually so it makes it harder to regain PP with rod unlike Ragrants or Ilbarta.

Well it would appear that most of my techs were fine then. I refined my Type-0 ones a bit since they were on trial, but besides that good enough. Most of them are close to perfection, but even if they aren't, it's a waste of time and cash trying to get 750% if you're at 720% because of RNG.

Just to help with Sazonde, it actually has 3 viable craft recipes

Swift Sazonde LV1 : horrible DPS/DPP but highest shock rate along with zondeel, which makes it a great combo to swiftly neutralize any boss weak to lightning SE
Swift Sazonde LV3 : Decent-ish DPS, low cost, generally only used by FO/FI for reliable TAJA windows at all ranges due to its sheer speed
Supercharged Sazonde lv3 : The one you use for damage. Similarly to Brilliants Ilgrants, projectile speed is greatly impaired so you should only use this at mid to close range. The good thing tho is that this is the second highest DPS after zonde 0, with the added bonus it can actually accurately hit parts/weakpoints that Zonde would miss due to its overall inaccuracy and the whole hitting from above deal
