    I noticed ive logged a lot less than i did on EP5, I guess that says something but I probably didnt really count how long i logged in per day. I kinda wish they'd look back at the old PSO and learn what made that game fun to play. Also, remove the goddamn premium block slots, I could barely play and join with my friends because of that shit.

    are your friends not willing to move to a mostly full freemium block? sounds like bad friends to me

    I mentioned it in another thread. There is no carrot on a stick, that's why the game feels dead. Despite its problems, EP5 had us work towards equipment from the very first week, because Evledas were an upgrade over Qliphad for BQ for anyone who didn't have godly affixed 8slot Qliphad. The same cannot be said for EP6. We're 5 months in, and there is still no weapon that we would want to replace a stock-affixed Lighstream with for any content. In fact most farming that has taken place in EP6 so far has been for affixes.

    In a couple weeks we are getting our first 13* units with S-abilities, so we may actually see player activity increase to farm these.

    I would like to echo this as well. If your friends do not want to move to another block to play with you, then they do not treat you as a friend, but as a convenience tool for less chances to get a random. It's the same behaviour as people who will take a spot in a block 45mins before an EQ and refuse to move; they are after the reward explicitly, and do not care about playing with others.

    How is removing Premium block slots gonna fix anything? Instead of being filled by premium people itll just get filled (faster) by f2p people. same problem but in blue

    but theres still no reason to jump to those aside utility, Schvelle units are basically on par with the top tier units right now and theres like only a handful of SSA's worth using. If its anything to go by again, there wasnt a reason to jump off Austere units in the past until better ones released because it was still utility. If you were someone who affixed a full set of Lightstream, Orgei unit, Rappy Shine etc you'd be fine. I also don't think they showed what you needed to trade in for those units but im not betting they wont use currently existing materials aligned with Omega because it wouldnt make sense story wise to use Armada materials but im also guessing Prize Medals may be used too

    I think in the patch we saw that all we need is schvelle boosters for the units.
    That being said i dont mind jumping from my rappy/ls/bode units to a full set of Schvelle once i get to affix them properly. I suspect S6-8 capsules will drop from the new UQ.

    Everything else can be summarized with par for the course with this game. Every episode has very little to do in its first 5 months.
    Episode 5 had buster quests which everybody seems to agree shouldve been a EQ (which is what Armada is for ep6) but the only 14* weapon it had was for HR/HU. We also got Dark Blasts which are super relevant i swear. Also man those evleda weapons sure aged well.
    Episode 4 had gathering. What a blast that was.
    Episode 3 had casino. It changed the game forever.
    Episode 2 had crafting which was mostly ass because bouncer wasnt a thing yet
    Episode 1 had free fields and seasonal-like EQs as main EQs. Weapon potentials werent a thing till Dark Falz Elder EQ came out 5 months after launch so weapon progression didnt take long either.
    As you can see the first 5 months are always the most thrilling time periods for PSO2.

    Sega is really bad at making content last long. The Gold saucer in FF14 is always full of players meanwhile the PSO2 Casino is a ghosttown. Old content still has the old, shit drop tables so no one runs them (Mining Defense 4 on maitnence day). If you wanted a NT orbit weapon for glamour better hope the daily PSO2es quick search isnt ass to you. Meanwhile in FF14 i can just enter a old dungeon with my level unsynched and farm it solo till i get the item i want. At this point i doubt sega can really fix things over time. It'd be best if they start over fresh with features like weapon form change and unit form change being available and influence the games design from the get go.

    The reason Sega cannot fix these issues is because they'd find resistance from the playerbase. Whether we like it or not, we are accustomed to the game not requiring us to do anything outside of EQ and daily FQ once per 3 days. If we were suddenly asked to "do task 1, then task 2, then task 3 etc" to get to our target, we (the vocal minority) would throw a fit. I do not have evidence, but I am nearly certain that the design change of new XH and UH fields from 2maze areas + boss into the cyclical UQ format was not as much to cut development costs, but because players gave feedback that they disliked having to spend time in a quest to get their reward.

    Gathering/Fishing was replaced by Rappy Keys. They could have extended food cooking to many tiers of foods with "harder" to cook foods (ie. harder to gather their materials) being better, but instead we only have 4 foods really: Jerky, Meat Stir Fry, that other food with DEF, and Karaage. Jerky doesn't even require gathering/fishing. Meat Stir Fry is only useful for cutting edge content (solo UQ). Karaage's 10% RDR bonus is almost useless when we basically have permanent 400% RDR as minimum.
    Casino is only useful for the SG now. ie. cosmetics. It could have been useful with rare boss triggers, but what bonus is there from rare bosses anyway? Not even the UH Boss triggers are worth getting.
    Crafting is only useful for Timed Abilities. PA/Tech crafts are a once-in-a-lifetime thing. We hoped that NT crafting would revive extending, but it didn't really. Gold- materials are almost 1050 meseta each. Players are probably also reaching the 65000 limit per stack on Saphards.

    This isn't unique to PSO2. Every online game that has passed the top of the bell curve of its populatiry goes down that path. When you see more and more campaigns for "free stuff!", "more exp!", "return and get this!", you know the game is nearing maintenance mode.

    A big problem I see the game having is how endgame gear is mostly generic. A game series like the Borderlands, can show some really cool ways to build legendary gear to go after.

    I feel like 14* and 15* weps should have come with multiple tricks to them and crazy effects. And quests are so linear as well. Saving citizens, spying, infiltration with nonlinear objectives should have been made way earlier in the game's lifespan.

    Darker infestation should have caused widespread zombie outbreak on arks ship or whatever planet or fucking EARTH and that would be a neat thing to happen in game lol

    Gathering/Fishing could have been so much more. We already have mats for cos to use, could have made dishes to boost damage against enemy types, damage reduction for a short time and even dishes for enemies to eat to boost drop rate significantly.
