Dreamcast Online Services To End This Month

"Sega has announced that all North American online operations involving its discontinued Dreamcast console, with the sole exception of Phantasy Star Online Version 2, will be suspended this month. Apparently Sega had delayed the shutdown already once in the past.
Sega discontinued the production of the Dreamcast in March 2001 and opted to become a third party publisher, in the wake of a towering deficit."


Kinda stinks for fans of the free online ver 1...

Both version 1 and 2 play on the same servers, so more than likely both versions will still be able to play. Probably just a muck-up in the translation or some-such. My condolences to the people who still like to play other DC online games, though. It's no fun when good things come to an end.

Yeah. Unreal Tournament, Quake III, and some others I can't remember. This news sucks, beings as I just bought a brand new copy of version 1 in hopes of getting on for free
